I bought my first Platinum Tailor coat about six or seven years ago. It's only ever needed two minor repairs that whole time, both instances just a worn-through pocket. Keep in mind this has been my main coat and I've gone out in it nearly every day, in all kinds of weather. If that isn't a testament to the quality of The Platinum Tailor, I don't know what is. You really are getting what you pay for with these, if not more.This newest addition to my collection is just as worthwhile as my old one. It might be my new favourite, if I'm being honest. I can't think of any other time I've bought a coat, tried it on and then immediately taken a walk round the park for the sole purpose of having an excuse to wear it a bit longer.It's well-fitting and feels wonderfully luxurious inside and out. The warmth it provides is surprising, even for a thick material. In winter, it'll keep you snug and toasty for sure.It's difficult to find long coats these days, especially well made ones. The folks at The Platinum Tailor deliver soundly on both counts; and for that, they have my loyal custom and sincerest compliments!

Purchased for my son, it is a generous fit and he was pleasantly surprised by the length, all in all a great coat that looks superb

The coat material is warm and thick. It has a real chunky winter overcoat feel. I bought to wear over a suit so i sized up and this fits well.The coat I received suffers from poor quality button fastenings and this detracts from the satisfaction. I started wearing the coat two weeks ago as the cold weather started and already 2 of the large exterior buttons have fallen off. Upon examination I note that the third button is only attached through 2 of the four button holes by a flimsy piece of thread. Had they been sewn on properly all the buttons would still be firmly attached. Not what I expected from something branded as 'platinum'.The one other minor niggle is the platinum taylor logo stitched into the left sleeve. Makes it very hard to remove cleanly and it's not exactly a discrete label.Overall I'd say its a good buy but for the price the quality leaves something to be desired.Don't get me wrong this is a nice coat but it could have been a great coat with a little attention to detail on quality.

I've been looking for a properly long coat like this for ages. This turned out to be exactly what I was after -- fits perfectly, a good heavy coat for January, and it looks very smart. Excellent service from the vendor: prompt replies to my emails and, when I originally ordered the wrong size, I had the replacement within a couple of days.

A VERY TERRIBLE COAT which looks like a £16 coat.Terrible style, awful quality! Very disappointed!

It was the wrong size. I can see it is good quality and value and am happy to exchange for a size 38 single breasted coat provided it is black and preferably does up at the top

A very well designed long winter coat. I didn't find it too large. It has long sleeves but in my case that's ok as I have long arms. The little downsides are: 1. It has a strong manufacturing smell that takes a long time to go. 2. As others have said stitching the name to a cuff is inconvenient and unnecessary. We know it is made by Platinum Tailor. If we forget there are three stitchings inside to remind us.3. The epaulettes didn't sit properly and had to be stitched

I love the look of this coat, I wish there were more greatcoats out there his good.... But this I returned due to it being just a size too big (I got the smallest size available). Would like a smaller size to be available one day.

I am very satisfied with this coat in all respects and it is far nicer than I expected at this price point. The fabric feels high-quality, as does the lining. The coat is surprisingly heavy. It is proportioned nicely and sewn well. I ordered my usual suit jacket size and the coat fits perfectly. Upon arrival I spent a few minutes with a seam ripper (from my sewing kit) opening up the pockets...easy. I also needed to steam out the wrinkles that happened in transit.

Totally satisfied with the quality and fabrication of this garment. It fits superbe, feels very good and keeps me warm. It looks good on me too (says the wife:). A fine piece of craftsmanship absolutely worth the import tax to the EU. Look up the Platinum Tailor's homepage and check their size information. Much better than Amazons "should fit you".
