**Q: how do you install the batteries?  it didn't come with any instructions.**
A: The Magnum Plus is not electric. It does not use batteries. It is a manual grinder.

**Q: Do they also make a salt mill?  Now using Himalayan rock salt.**
A: No, there is not a salt version of the 9-inch Magnum Plus pepper mill. There is a salt version of the 6-inch Magnum. It is available in white and grinds coarse sea salt. We do not recommend customers use Celtic, Grey, Himalayan or Pink salt in our mills as those salts are not fully dried and can gum up or clog the teeth of the ceramic grinding mechanism. Salt and Pepper grinders are designed to crush/grind dry, brittle material. "Moist" or not "damp" peppercorns or salt crystals are never recommended. Coarse sea salt is our recommendation - with the crystals about the size of a peppercorn. Hope this helps.

**Q: Why is the 6 inch version so hard to find that doesnt cost twice as much as the 9 inch version?**
A: We're the manufacturer of the 6-inch Magnum, and 9-inch Magnum Plus pepper mills. The 6-inch Magnum pepper mill is presently out of stock And third party vendors are taking advantage of the strong demand for this product by charging very high prices for the little bit of stock they have. Come July 2019, when both products will be widely available again, those third party vendors with their sky-high prices will fade to the background. And you'll have the oportunity to purchase our mills at our normal prices.

**Q: What makes this pepper grinder so special it costs $45? I already own it, but have never used another grinder before. SO just curious.**
A: I purchased mine in 2009 on AMAZON for $51.95 so now it`s $ 6.00 less, this puts out a very large amount  of whatever size grind you choose. Works as well as the day I got it and gets used every day. I also have the 6" salt mill that works just as well,you get what you pay for.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to refill! And grinds a lot of pepper quickly.

This is my favorite pepper grinder. I saw it on Alison Roman's cooking videos, and decided to splurge, even though I already had a very nice Peugeot grinder. I still use that pretty wooden one for my dinner table, but this Unicorn one stays right next to the stove. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas, and she LOVES it. She did mention that, because of this fabulous grinder, she has to buy pepper more often due to using so much more of it :) I actually bought this mill as a gift for a podcaster I love to listen to who has mentioned many times that she loves black pepper (great podcast BTW--it's called Were You Raised By Wolves? and is truly a delight. Highly recommend.) Here are the two main reasons I love the Unicorn pepper mill: It is far easier to refill than the Peugeot. There's a large hole in the side of the grinder with a rotating cover that twists over it to close it off or open it up for refilling. Most pepper mills, you take the top off and try to pour peppercorns down the central hole that runs through the length of the mill, but this is also the hole containing the grinding mechanism and the post that runs down the center, so it's hard to get the pepper into this opening. With the Unicorn, this isn't an issue. I find that the best way to refill it is to put the pepper into a measuring cup with a spout and just pour the pepper into the hole. I do this over a rimmed sheet pan to catch any strays. It grinds A LOT of pepper easily, which is why my daughter noticed she was going through pepper faster than before. It makes swift and easy work of adding a tablespoon of pepper to a recipe (but I mean--who measures pepper? Pepper should be measured with your heart.) If you are a true pepper lover, treat yourself and get this mill.
