FIVE STARS! Delicious! Great Value for Money! Healthy Organic! Humane! And, No Hassle Ordering!
This was my first ghee purchase ever. I had never heard of ghee before, but I found it whilst I was looking for something with a high smoke point for my stove top popcorn maker. After reading about this ghee and reading so many of the enthusiastic reviews, I decided to order it. Thirty-two ounces seems a lot of ghee for one person, but it is good for one entire year, and I normally use quite a bit of butter/margarine each month, so I think I can use it up within a year and maybe sooner. The jar was very well wrapped, even aesthetically wrapped, and it came in a nice, sturdy box that is entirely reusable once the jar is empty---I plan to store the jar in the box inside my cool, dry, dark pantry. (In fact, the jar itself is of such nice quality that I plan to reuse it once I have used up the ghee.) I expected it to arrive wrapped well enough to withstand the journey, but this was almost wrapped like a gift and was a lot of fun in the unwrapping to my surprise. There was a date label on the lid to tell me exactly how long I could reasonably expect to use it, too, so I need not try to remember exactly whence I purchased it. I love the large, heavy jar it come in. I am so sick of everything coming in plastic containers these days whence glass is so much nicer in so many ways. Once I unwrapped my jar, I could not wait to try it, so I popped some bread into the toaster. A minute or two later my toast was ready for the ghee. I opened the jar and sniffed. It smelt quite fresh and nice---nothing at all chemical about it---and, it was a lovely buttercup yellow colour. I spread it on my toast and took a bite. YUM!!! This is delicious!!! I cannot wait to try it in my popcorn popper as well as in cooking veggies, etc., etc. I am very pleased with my purchase of Ancient Organics ghee and will purchase it again in future. Yes, at first glance, $35 (shipped) seems expensive for a jar of "butter," but the quality of this product is so much better than the usual margarines/butters purchased at the market, and if you divide the cost by fifty-two weeks in a year, it breaks down to sixty-eight cents a week or $2.72 a month, which is about as much as I spend on one small, plastic tub of margarine at Wal-Mart. So, is this a good dea?l?! I would say so!!! I also LOVE the fact that it is made from the milk of cows that are grazed on good grasses and are never treated with drugs and/or confined to feed lots as I LOATHE factory farming. Using these sorts of products leaves my conscience free that I am not supporting an industry that factory farms animals for any purpose. The old saying "you are what you eat" is true on so many levels, and I feel good eating this ghee. I definitely recommend this ghee. Just try it. You will not be sorry. Oh, I also later found it on the manufacturer's website in smaller sized jars, so if you are really nervous about the purchase, try a small bottle for around $12 first. However, I think you will love it enough to want the thirty-two ounce jar the second time around. If you have a family or two or more, and you cook with butter and use it on toast, popcorn, etc., then I have no doubt that you can easily use up a thirty-two ounce jar in less than a year and maybe in as little as six months or less. It just depends on how much butter/margarine you normally use each week.

Delicious!
I discovered ghee while taking a course on Ayurveda several months ago. Ghee is the best, most easily-absorbed fat your body can use. It is also really stable at high temperatures so it's great for cooking. Purchased my first 8 oz. jar of ghee (not this brand) in a health food store for $12.95 and was hooked. However, I realized I had to find a less expensive source because this stuff can be addicting. Started trying different brands from Amazon and also from brick and mortar stores. Have had some good, some not so good, and some really bad ghee (bought recently from an Indian grocery store when I couldn't get this brand last time I ran out). If you taste bad ghee the first time out, you will probably not purchase it again. Eat Good Fat is the best ghee I've tried so far and I've tried at least 7 different brands. I cook with it, use it on toast, put a tablespoon in my oatmeal and a T. in my coffee each morning (along with a T. of half and half). After eating at least 2 T. daily for 4 months, I've dropped at least 10 pounds. I did not know this could be a side benefit of eating good fat. I always ate butter but now replace butter with ghee. I used to cook with olive or coconut oil but now cook mostly with ghee. Ghee seems to help me lose my cravings for certain things like cheese and even alcoholic beverages (which could also help explain the weight loss). I also don't get ravenously hungry like I used to, so feel that it stabilizes my blood sugar levels. My normally dry skin is also not so dry anymore. So many benefits that it is worth paying over a $1/day for this. I also quit taking most of my vitamins so that saves me lots. The only negative I can say about this product is that it is no longer something you can get within 2 days. It can take a week to ten days from the time you order it until delivery. From reading other reviews it sounds like it's because people are hoarding it-buying 4 and 5 jars at a time. Maybe Ancient Organics will have to limit the number of jars you can purchase to one within a two-week period. I'd hate to see them lower the quality of this by mass producing, which may be what they'll end of doing if certain, greedy consumers keep stockpiling 4 and 5 jars at once. In the spirit of yoga, please think of your fellow ghee lovers and resist the urge to buy way more of the product than you will use in the next month or two. It tastes and works best if not refrigerated but it also has a 2 month shelf life out of the fridge so no need to buy more than you're going to consume during that time.

Ancient Organics Ghee is an excellent product, for a very nice price (at the 32 oz size)
I have read so much about ghee, and clarified butter, over the years, but was always a bit skeptical about the various products. Everyone claims to be this and that and the best. But, considering the price for the amount of this product, which I felt was very fair (compared to store prices), I gave it a chance. I was more than impressed, and very happy with the flavor and texture of this ghee. And I was happy to read how healthful it is with being 100% organic from grass-fed cows and all. I have actually been into cooking and baking for years, so I really should have considered using this a long time ago, as most professional chefs do. Granted, it's not cheap (not inexpensive), but in this case, the price worked fine for me. I am so glad that I have finally discovered this for myself. It is very light in consistency, but with a very nice, yet "earthy / nutty" butter flavor to it. Also it can be stored outside of the fridge, so long as it is in a cool, dark space - with no direct sunlight. And also, don't dip random foods into the jar, to avoid any sort of cross-contamination - use only clean utensils. If you are planning on keeping it for more than 2 months, then it would be best refrigerated. I very much recommend this particular product from Ancient Organics. If you have never tried ghee in your cooking before, please do. You will not be disappointed.

Giving 5 stars for ghee quality but it's impossible to tighten and open. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE LID!
check the quantity, it's huge. such a great value, excellent quality, great taste comes with a beautiful brochure with nutritional information and ideas. very satisfied. Ghee is very shelf stable at room temp but it's suggested to refrigerate after 2 mos. so I keep in fridge. I had a small pot of ghee before this. So I keep some at room temp with that and transfer as necessary. This way it's spreadable and easy to cook with. TO OPEN. This one time I used hot water, non slip kitchen mitt, banging on the floor, and just couldn't get it open. I ended up smashing the jar, the glass pulverized into powder sized bits into the jar and I had to throw what was left away. Until they advertise new packaging I won't buy. UPDATE: I still have not repurchased because of my experience having to waste product because I could never open the lid and the last time I banged the lid too hard with a hammer and ended up with glass everywhere and in the ghee which I had to discarddd. I need to see that the packaging has changed before I will get this again. Also, please don't think that just because it's grass-fed gree that this is 'the healthiest of healthy oils" as I saw in another review. Plant based oils high in Omega 3 fats are the healthiest oils including avocado oil which like ghee has a high smoke point. La Tourangelle makes a high quality one.

This has a richer, more buttery flavor than other brands I have tried.
This is now my favorite brand of ghee. I used to go with the Pure Indian Foods brand, but I like the taste of this brand a little better and this one is cheaper. I have cooked with both of them and although I couldn't detect much of a difference after I cooked with them, I would be able to tell the difference if I just put them on toast. Ghee is not cheap but a little goes a long way. I used to cook with grass fed butter until I learned that different cooking butters and oils will oxidize and create free radicals if they are heated above their allotted temperature. Since then, I discovered ghee which is basically butter with all the milk solids removed. This makes it a much more stable fat to cook with and it can be heated to a much higher temperature than almost all other fats/oils without compromising it (485 degrees F). I just make sure to use a lid on my pans because ghee tends to spit out of the pan more than butter when heated initially. Ghee benefits... 1. Contains one of the highest natural sources of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid). CLA is a potent antioxidant, anti-carcinogen & powerful immune system enhancer. CLA cannot be produced by the human body so the only way we can get it is through foods such as whole milk, butter, beef, and lamb. CLA has been shown to increase metabolic rate, lower insulin resistance and lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels. To get the most CLA, it is important to always buy grass fed ghee. 2. Ghee is rich in medium chain fatty acids, which are absorbed directly by the liver (like carbs) and burned as energy. Athletes can use ghee as a consistent energy source. 3. Ghee is rich in vitamins & does a whole number of things to aid in the process of digestion.

Heaven in a jar...
It was a dreary day, nothing had gone right all day, I was bored, sad, lonely and uninspired. Whoa is me. The doorbell rang, I opened the door, in my sweats, hair a mess with tear streaked cheeks, it was the postman holding a box. Oh, now what.. I carried the box in and opened it. There inside perfectly packed was a jar labeled "Eat Good Fat". More fat, just what I need. Whoa is me.. I pulled it out and opened the jar. Suddenly I could hear Disney birds singing in the background. A wonderful, rich caramel scent wafted up and wrapped itself around my dismal body. It took over my senses. WHAT IS THIS STUFF?! I started to sing with joy, I felt 2 inches taller, inspired, ALIVE. Is this ghee? I've tried many ghee's and none of them made me sing. I reluctantly set the jar down and went about my chores. I couldn't get the ghee out of my mind. I kept going back to sneak a whiff and hear the birds singing. Finally I hit the fridge looking for things to cook with the ghee. I put it in everything now. This stuff is heaven in a jar. I even put a dab in my coffee which makes me sing in the morning. This ghee adds a wonderful, flavorful complexity to any food I add it to. I just want to take the jar and a spoon and hide with it. You must have this Ghee, It will make you sing with joy..

Something has seriously gone wrong here.
This is the third time I have ordered this product, and something is seriously wrong with this current batch of ghee. The product was completely separated upon arrival, with a yellow oil on top and a Crisco-looking glob at the bottom. I tried shaking it to get it to mix, to no avail. Like others, when I realized it was not going to solidify on its own at room temperature, I placed it in the fridge. It solidified but in a very inconsistent way: there are particles suspended in the solidified ghee now. Taking it out of the fridge and allowing it to get to room temperature only caused it to separate again. I'm very disappointed that there are no returns on this product. I absolutely will not be eating it - how can you? I've never had another jar do this before: I seriously doubt the quality and recipe of this batch. I will gladly update my response if I hear from the company/shipper: I have recommended this product to everyone I know, including my aunt who is an avid butter-hater but just when I had her convinced to give it a try, I get this jar in the mail. Maybe it's not a lot to some people, but this product is expensive to me and to know I'm going to end up throwing $36 in the trashcan speaks volumes about customer service. Heed the warnings and do not buy until they address this situation!

Way Too Pricey for Regular/Daily Use — But A Better (Though Still NOT Necessarily GOOD) Buy On Sale!
I got this [[ASIN:B00E0WB292:5 Ancient Organics 100% Organic Ghee from Grass-fed Cows — 32 oz Jar]] in November 2018, during a Black Friday sale, even though I usually make my own organic ghee (its very simple, just heat unnsalted butter [actual BUTTER, not margarine or other "butter-like spread" because I don't know how that will work out] on your stove over low or medium-low heat, stirring it often until the butter melts and the liquid becomes clear/see-through/transparent, meaning the milk solids have been removed, then strain it into a jar). Because it was a "Lightning Deal" sale and the timer was about to run out on the sale, I bought this pre-made ghee impulsively, on a whim. But even though the taste was great (and maybe even better than the home-made version) in retrospect, I don't think it was worth the price — even with the discount. Because the listed regular price is $39.95 for the 32 oz bottle and though I’ve forgotten the exact sale price of this ghee, when I checked the order details/invoice, there were two items on the order (this ghee and one other Lightning Sale item) and if I recall correctly the two Lightning discounts were in the amount of $10 something, and $3 something. Which means the lowest price the ghee could’ve been is $29.95 which in retrospect is WAY too expensive, considering that since I can get 1 lb (16 oz) of organic grassfed pastured butter for $4-$7. Which means that for $8-$14 and about ½ hour of time, I can get the SAME amount of organic, grassfed and even pasture-raised ghee, for HALF the cost of this item. So I deducted one star for being ridiculously pricey. That being said, it was MY mistake not to pay attention to whether it really was a good deal or not — and granted, this ghee IS GREAT. It spread well, and had a wonderful aroma and flavor/taste. So if you don’t really care about saving money, then this overpriced ghee, would be great for you. But if you have a limited budget because of a low and/or fixed income (like me living on permanent disability [supplemented by the financial support of family] — thanks vaccines/Big pHARMa! 🤬) then you’re probably better off just making your own ghee for a fraction of the price. Like I said, it’s very easy. Just get some unsalted butter (whether you want to go organic & grassfed/pasture-raised is up to you, but in my opinion, you should, if you can afford it — because not only is the taste much better but you reduce [maybe even eliminate!] exposure to all the synthetic chemical additives, and hormones & antibiotics in conventional butter) and melt it in a saucepan over low or medium-low heat and stirring it constantly, till it becomes a clear liquid without the white spots of milk solids. Then strain the ghee into a jar, vóila, you’ve made ghee! All in all though, this ghee is pretty great, and if it weren’t for the insane price, I’d have probably bought it regularly to save the time of standing over a stove stirring the butter, waiting for it to melt and then clarify. But the price is not worth saving that ½ hour or so. Which is why I’ve given the rating that I have. ★☆★☆ 4 STARS!!!
