The Microscope That Made My Kid a Backyard Explorer
I'm pretty sure my kid spent a good hour of her life staring at a blade of grass. That's what this microscope does. It's not just a toy; it's a gateway to a tiny, fascinating world you never knew existed. The 40X-1000X magnification is no joke—she went from "is that a leaf?" to "oh my goodness, that leaf has a whole civilization on it." The fact that it comes with everything you need to get started is a huge bonus. The two clips are perfect for securing newfound treasures (and weird garden bugs), and the eyepieces are super clear. My kid has gone on daily "specimen safaris," and it's turned our backyard into the most exciting place on Earth. If you're looking for a way to make science cool and discover just how many weird things live in your house, this is the microscope for you. It's the perfect mix of educational and utterly mesmerizing.

Great Value Buy You will be very pleased after buying ...
Great Value Buy You will be very pleased after buying this microscope, as it is an extremely good option, especially for the price. The ideal user would be an infrequent user that doesn't not require an extremely high quality internal look inside cells. I personally use this microscope for analyzing semen samples collected from swine. I am fully able to accurately assess motility and morphology of the cells. How It Can Help You This microscope will allow you to accurately view cells on a molecular level. If you are looking for a basic entry level microscope I am quite certain that this device will more than exceed your level of expectations. The criteria I used to evaluate this product are pretty basic; ease of use, quality of focus, and light permeability. You will find that this product is extremely to use. The basic setup of the focus knobs are easy to distinguish between the corse adjustment, larger knob, and fine adjustment, small knob, easily allowing you to finely adjust your viewpoint on your desired specimen. I also appreciate the quality of focus this device can provide its users, which after purchase I'm sure you will too. Lastly the adjustable bulb shade allows you to effectively shade the amount of light that penetrates the slide. This will allow you to easily push light through darker specimens or lower for clear cells. Closing The Deal Overall, I would highly recommend this product to nearly any entry level user it can come with a few draw backs for a more advanced user such as, inability to see inside cells clearly and lack of a binocular objective, which could be expected as it is clearly marketed as a monocular objective however I do think it could improve the ease and clarity of use. However, this scope has fully met and exceeded all of my expectations for this device and I am extremely happy with this product and would buy it again.

Great for fun, not great for research
It’s not too shabby. It’s no professional microscope by any standards but it’s perfectly fine for some hobby/homeschool stuff. I’ll attach photos I took of some guard cells (the paired cells that regulate the opening/closing of stomata) and circled them in purple just so anyone can gauge the ability based on magnification. They are all taken with the 10x optical and then sequentially the 4x, 10x, and 40x objectives. Of course the detail level visible isn’t amazing, especially at higher magnifications, but it’s enough to see that these microscopic structures exist, hence perfect for just messing around or teaching but not quite research grade.

Awesome microscope for the Price.
I bought this for my Aquarium Hobby and for my daughter. Mainly for myself. The 2 of us have a lot of fun looking at stuff. This really opened up my daughters mind. She said "now I want to see what everything looks like under a microscope." The photo I posted are of parasites/bugs I found in my Fish poop. I also did a Skin scrape of my fish to check for External parasites and that did not have as many fun things as the poop. The stool sample was just a Squish mount and I was very happy with the quality of this scope. I had a Cheap kid microscope back when I was 10 years old in the 80s. I loved that thing, but this one is SO much better. I am happy I made the upgrade. So worth the money. I worked in Vet offices for years and went to vet tech school. So I have used a microscope before. This scope can see most of what you need. I would like a moving stage. You need a moving stage if you want to do a good Fecal or blood scan. This stage does not move. You have to move the side by hand and that is a pain. It is easy to miss things when you do it by hand. So for just general use I love it. It feels really well made I would have liked binocular lens but that was too much money for the amount of time I was going to use it for. If anyone keeps fish and knows what Parasites or "bugs" I have here please let me know. The microscope can only help you if you know what it is you are looking at. I have much research to do.

Works great
While not super sophisticated, this works great. I read other reviews and had some concerns thinking I might have to return this, but I'm quite satisfied with the functionality given the price point. I added the provided 3x AA batteries, flicked on the power (light worked great), found a spec of wood fiber and just put it on a slide (which I had bought separately for a few bucks), clipped the slide in, and it was immediately in focus (which was a happy accident). The zoom in/out controls worked well - tight enough to feel solid, but loose enough to turn without much effort. When switching to higher magnification, I had to turn the brightness up which was easy with the adjustment knob. I should have gotten a scope with controls for a sliding table/shelf because at these scales moving the slide is very sensitive. But I got what I needed with this. I would suggest this for a beginner (like me) who is in need of seeing tiny things :) If I have longevity issues with this, I'll update this review; but for now, it has done exactly what I needed.

Good starter microscope
I bought this for my son who has developed an interest in biology and he loves it. The rest of the reviews here cover the scope pretty well. I'm leaving this one to say that we had an issue with the eyepieces so we contacted Amscope directly. They promptly resolved the issue without any hassle. This alone was enough to prompt me to write this review. Good customer service adds greatly to the value of this microscope.

Surprisingly great microscope for the price!
I bought this microscope a semester ago for my biology co-op class. I already owned a Sonlight brand microscope (which I love) and was loaned a very expensive binocular microscope. Later, as more students came into the class, I was loaned an even MORE expensive, fancy binocular microscope. And guess what? This small, inexpensive, light-weight scope is the second most popular one in the class among the students and by me. The only one we like better is the Sonlight one (it has a mechanical stage so it makes moving slides to search for something easier), but we only like it a little better (and this one is much less expensive). I am very pleasantly shocked by how great the optics of this little scope are and how easy it is to use. AND it has the option to be battery powered, so it's a great take-along scope for outdoor explorations. I highly recommend this and if I am ever in the market to purchase a third microscope, I'll be purchasing another of these.

ABSOLUTE 5 out of 5!!
Straight out the box you get a good quality microscope. Everything is packaged well! The microscope has a good weight to it!! It doesn't feel like a toy. It comes with everything as stated. I like the fact that this uses both battery and adapter for the light source which includes a knob for brightening/dimming. While observing specimen, the lens clarity is amaizing!! Everything works how it supposed to. My only complaint is not having a knob to tune the stage left and right. I would've also liked if we were able to use that type C input with a cable for imaging but that's just a power adapter input. Overall I still give this product 5 stars! Definately a good buy! Good value for the price!

superb product item for any serious beginner and update
the led light have a dimmer, super idea (+ iris wheel under the plate) and look very solid.. so, i’m very happy and now i’m a lover.. :) i think to change the led for a rgb one (with colors/dim control) with u.v. Led for extra details in fluorescence with a low pass yellow filter for my eyes.. superb construction.. nice day!! resume after one day of used it with a OMAX 5MP USB Camera and the yes, i’m in love with my kit very useful.. i will come back to show some pictures of National Geographic slide kit and yes, i’ve tryed with a UV (395nm) little led and placed just a bit out of the hole, i can see more more details as a fluorescent stones under uv light.. great idea not?? (my eyes still away with the OMAR camera and i’ve full of specimens to try in the garden here).. i will come back soon with pictures of it.. idea of MG, not expensive and full useful.. :)

Excelente producto!!!
Excelente producto.
