While my husband loved the thick topper
I tried one of the more common 3" foam memory mattress toppers. While my husband loved the thick topper, I suffered for several months of back pain from using it a couple of weeks. It was just too soft for me (I have some pre-existing back conditions). I took it back and searched far and wide before I found this 1" pad. It adds a little cushion to our older mattress without making it super soft. We both love it, it's perfect.
