Package List • Scratching Pad * 1 • Catnip * 1 Review: My little cat loves them!! - I have 2 cats so I bought 2 so in theory they would have 1 each - yes they're cats so we all know how that theory worked out - silly me! First off they went absolutely mad for the catnip especially the big cat (the black one called George) I couldn't get it open fast enough for him and ended up with 10 layers of skin missing & catnip everywhere!! Once I'd added the catnip, the cats did what cats do and loved the boards, rubbing themselves against & over them etc. George then decided they were both his & every time the little cat (black & white one called squirt) went near one of the boards he would bat him away. Once the catnip effect wore off, George completely ignored them! George however ignores everything other than dreamies and catnip so this was no surprise! Squirt on the other hand has made them his new home (he's asleep on one of them as I write this). He loves them, he spends his day laying or sitting on them and uses them to scratch - yay Squirt! He even remained laying on one of them while I hoovered instead of running away and hiding in one of the many scattered about tunnels like usual. He is rewarded with a dreamies treat when he scratches on them, much to George's annoyance, and has not scratched anything else since. George is still using the old futon as his scratch post and get annoyed with no dreamies treat for doing so - he will learn, eventually! He has started to sit on them and sometimes lie on them so he has started to accept them invading his domain. I have tried to get a photo of Squirt scratching them but as soon as I move to take the photo, he stops scratching! I will add that a day or 2 after getting them George decided it would be fun to upend a newly filled water bowl over one of them, I was concerned how this would affect them as they are cardboard but I popped it up out of their reach to allow it to dry & it is as robust as it was before its' fight with the water bowl. I found that excellent & it said a lot about the good quality of them. Whilst I am only getting a 50% success rate in terms of them being used for scratching at present, I'm still happy to give them 5 stars for everything because of how much Squirt loves them and George seems to be coming around to them & I think will soon start to use them other than for a sun lounger! The 4 photos with the hoover in view were taken today - Squirt still hasn't moved from that spot! Review: My girls love these - Purchase these up to 4 times a year, when they wear out. Yes cardboard does get everywhere but have tried several less messy ones that went to cat charity, as they looked sniffed and walked off. Every day first thing in the morning they go for these and several times a day. They sleep on them, Play on them and it saved my stair carpet as since getting these they have not once scratched the carpet. Is a must in your cat household. One tiny thing, they come in different side colours that make no difference to your cat, I’m sure, but certain colours cost more than others??? I always go for whatever colour is cheapest as I have to buy 2 ever time. They all look nice and the girls love them in the garden if it’s nice. Definitely 👍 recommended.

Not quite the desired outcome but she clearly was having a great time. This has not happened since so I ...
Our delightful cat has been swimming along the bottom of our two sofas for too long now and concluding with a scratch on the sides, so I read all the reviews on here, some of which made me really chuckle, and decided to go for it. The product is not much to look at, especially once it has been scratched and ripped up, but seems to be just the trick! In fact, our darling feline got so excited when I had popped some catnip into it that I am sure she left a little wet patch on it. Not quite the desired outcome but she clearly was having a great time. This has not happened since so I am inclined to forget it as a one-off. The product itself is genius and does the trick for a very reasonable price. Not sure how long I would keep it looking like it does after only a couple of days but, if visitors appear, I will just hide it under the sofa! Totally would recommend.

Great scratch board for my anxious rescue cat
I brought this product for my very new rescue cat who suffers from extreme anxiety. This is a lovely scratch board that he started using straight away. He was encouraged by the catnip that you sprinkle on the top. My cat scratches and rolls on this product. When he is nervous or anxious he also goes and scratches on this rather than my furniture. I would highly recommend this product as a stimulating toy and scratch board. The only downside is that the catnip can fall through the product but it is easy to sweep or hoover up. Excellent value for money and is going to last for a while.

It Saved My Leather Sofa From Total Destruction
One of my cats Cymmi is a demon for scratching. With a cat tree activity centre and scratching posts he still preferred to use my sofas and other furniture. Plus the odd unsuspecting cardboard box lying around. I tried everything to stop him scratching my leather sofa but being the demon he is nothing worked. Until I came across this scratcher. I was looking for something else to distract him with. When I saw this one it stood out, a lot of the reviews said it worked but these cats in the reviews weren't Mr Cymmi. As it was made of cardboard I thought I could try it. I bought it when it was on offer so got it a little cheaper then usual. As he had shredded a fair few cardboard boxes it might have done the trick. When it arrived I placed it flat next to the sofa. Initally neither of them was impressed. Even catnip couldn't entice him. So I thought I'd play him at his own game, whenever I told him not to scratch something he did it more. So one evening when I caught him using it I gave a firm "No" wouldn't you know it hey presto it worked. He's used it ever since, although now he gets a "good boy" when I see him using it. I bought it in March and it still has some wear left in it. It is double sided so once he has completely obliterated one side I can just turn it over. As it's cardboard you do get a fair bit of mess but this really isn't a big problem. I'm much happier cleaning up torn cardboard then trying to fix deep scratches in leather furniture. Overall I'm really impressed by it and as both cats now use it it's been a life saver.

Has gone down in quality.
My cat loves these scratchers. It took her a couple of days to realise what they were, then she took to using them daily. In addition to scratching, they're good for keeping the cat cooler than the carpet does. I've noticed her sitting on the wide scratcher more often as the spring days warm up, especially after a sunbathing session. It will be helpful for her when summer arrives. Ultimately, these are just sections of corrugated cardboard, so they're a little pricey for what they are. But the cat gets a lot of enjoyment out of them. You can turn them over once one side gets worn down. ETA: The most recent scratcher I received (June 2022) is not a patch on what these used to be. It's shorter, narrower, thinner, less dense, less rigid, and arrived with discoloured patches. No longer worth the price, in my opinion.

Brilliant for cats - place strategically around the house!
Great board for my cat, who was prone to sharpening her claws in the carpets. The brown cardboard does come away quite easily, so hoovering around and near the board is required on a daily basis, but it's a small price to pay for intact carpets. Board seems to be lasting well, and once it gets too worn down, it can just be turned over. I anticipate it lasting approx. a year before needing replacing - but this depends on how much your cat uses it! Mine uses it multiple times daily.

More than 1 cat - get 2 pads!
Brilliant! 3 cats practically fight over this pad. It's really solid and has taken plenty of hammer and claws. Put a bit of catnip on it and it's also a bed, it's big enough for a large cat to sprawl out on as ours do. The good thing is its double sided, so once one side is destroyed, just flip it over. We've had this for a few months now and it's still pretty good on the first side. We've had cheaper ones that got trashed in a few hours, so well happy with this one, and the cats give it 4 paws up! Wish I had bought two to stop the squabbling.

If your cat doesn't like vertical posts, try this pad!
My cat has ignored vertical scratching posts, so I got this, and she loves it! It doesn't prevent her from clawing the furniture, but she claws the furniture less often, so this scratching pad has been worth it. Plus, she seems to really like it. She'll even sit or lay on it. I like how easy it is. Just put it along her path, and here she comes to claw at it. It's cardboard so little cardboard pieces get everywhere, so expect to vacuum often. I haven't used the catnip packet it comes with, but my kitty doesn't care for catnip anyway. This scratching pad is double-sided so it has lasted quite awhile. I'd be fine purchasing this again, but may look for one inside a box to help prevent the cardboard pieces from getting all over. But this one is convenient, worth the cost, and keeps my kitty happy.
