This is a handcrafted bread lame or scorer made from oak wood in Glasgow Scotland. The lame is used for slashing the breads outer surface before baking. This is allows the dough expansion and as a skilled baker you are able to manipulate the rise and shape of the dough. To change blade simply uncrew the thumb nut screw and carefully replace the existing blade . As these lames are all individually handmade, some slight variations may be present, length, width and wood grain. Each one of the lame has my Z logo for authenticity. As the lame is handmade, knife and saw marks may still remain visible for the eye; and as it's sanded with mostly hand it may not be as perfectly smooth as a factory produced item. Please read carefully! The bread lame is extremely sharp and it is not a toy! It is strictly not suitable for anyone under the age of 18 years old!

Lovely looking lame, feels and works beautifully
Such a great product, arrived before time stated, beautifully packaged and it looks and works perfectly. Most of my breadmaking tools are wooden so loved this handmade wooden lame crafted from a whisky barrel. You get what you pay for and this proves it!
