What's the point of belly buttons? When will my voice go deep? Why do I have to go to bed? Curious children can find out about growing up and puberty, hormones, periods, shaving and much more in this entertaining book with over 60 flaps to lift. There are helpful tips on coping with growing up, and links to websites with more information, too. Review: A bit of a surprise 🤣 - This is the 5th book I have bought for my daughter in this series. She is 7 and likes the flap books. Everything is age appropriate and great conversation starters. However, I was a bit a taken back with the penis picture 😂 Again, everything is anatomically correct, but I didn't expect it, so it threw me when my daughter lifted it up and started laughing. At that moment I didn't know what to say, as she had MANY questions 😂 but as us mum's do, I did my best. So if you buy this book, have a look first, just so it doesn't come as a surprise Review: Engaging and informative - Written in matter of fact but gentle style, age appropriate and with cute illustrations. No embarrassment, judgement or shaming. Very pleased to share this with my KS1 child. Importantly, and in contrast to some reviews, it most certainly does cover ‘where do babies come from’ albeit as several, separate entries. It doesn’t seem to cover bodily autonomy or safety, but for that, perhaps see ‘only for me’ by Michelle Derrig

Great book, would recomend it.
Nice book for little ones. My 6 years old enjoyed reading it on her own. Loved the design and illustration. I also think that the selection of the content is great and the answers are right what they need for this stage. Would definitely recomend it.

useful
very informative, rational, brief and non-judgemental approach to puberty, suitable for children to read, on their own...one small quibble: on the cover is a small picture, and the question "where do babies come from?", but there is no corresponding picture, flap or answer in the book...this is the central question an embarrassed grandparent tries to answer, and it would have been useful to have some information on the printed page, to assist...oh well, one lumbers on...on the whole, a good foundation for further discussions...

Excellent book to start conversations
Our 7 year old daughter loves these books. Just be prepared to answer LOTS of follow on questions. It's been a brilliant conversation starter!

Fun and informative way of learning on how are bodies change as we grow
Bought this for my 9 year old as her school started Adult education and she wasn't quite understanding things based on how they where delivering it. This pop up book is fun and a bit of a giggle and my daughter is starting to understand how things work a little easier because of it :-) It's a hard subject to know how to deliver but this book really does help put it in kid talk that is understandable.

Growing up facts.
My son 9 years old y4 was asking a few questions so i wanted to give him correct info about growing up that was age appropriate for him. V satisfied with usborne books as he was pleased with information n finding useful facts under the flap book without being too detailed as dont think hrs ready for that yet. Just the right amount of info without saturating him with older stuff. Well done usborne always great books.

Sturdy book
I got this for my 8 year old. We don't open every flap at once, we pick a couple from each page in one reading session, open it, read it and discuss it. I would recommend for children 8yrs and under.
