The Companion Volume to How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk In this honest, illuminating book, internationally acclaimed parenting experts Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish bring to life the principles of famed child psychologist Dr. Haim Ginott, and show how his theories inspired the changes they made in their relationships with their own children. By sharing their experiences, as well as those of other parents, Faber and Mazlish provide moving and convincing testimony to their new approach and lay the foundation for the parenting workshops they subsequently created that have been used by thousands of groups worldwide to bring out the best in both children and parents. Wisdom, humor, and practical advice are the hallmarks of this indispensable book that demonstrates the kind of communication that builds self-esteem, inspires confidence, encourages responsibility, and makes a major contribution to the stability of today's family. This is an eye-opening book. Based on the understanding of children's psychology, deep respect towards little people and the will to help children grow happy and independent (instead of training them to be skillful and obedient). Although it introduces quite complex problems, it's very informative thanks to its simple language and real-life case studies (it's very American, but most of the problems have their universal level). When we read it we realise how much our parents influenced our own lifes. Now we try to incorporate the ideas introduced by the authors. And they (usually :) ) work!

How to talk so kids will listen, and listen so kids will talk).

Highly recommend!
Liberated Parents, Liberated Children by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazush is an exceptional and transformative guide for anyone looking to build a stronger, more empathetic relationship with their children. Their approach is both practical and compassionate, offering insightful strategies for dealing with everyday parenting challenges. The book is filled with realistic advice on how to handle difficult situations without resorting to control or punishment, focusing instead on mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation. I loved how it emphasizes the importance of active listening and connecting with children on an emotional level. The tips and real-life examples help parents not only understand their children better but also guide them in fostering emotional intelligence and independence. This book is a must-read for any parent seeking a more mindful, respectful approach to raising children, and it truly has the power to transform family dynamics.
