Look great, but I've noticed that there are 'dead spots' in the mechanism that mean you may not be able to get it to hold to a desired pitch - not ideal for a machine head.

You get what you pay for. These are cheap rubbish. I gave them to the luthier who was doing work in one of my guitars and 2 of the tuners wouldn't tighten tthe string enough to tune. Had to return and bought Guyker ones instead.

I’m an amateur luthier and can do a basic set up, strings, and tuner replacement. I got these for my beach guitar - a 90s(?) squier Acoustic. The wood is great but the hardware not so much. So far, these were an immediate upgrade in tuning stability and appearance. They dropped right in without any additional boring. I didn’t use the included bushings but they looked nice. The tuners look really classy and I’m looking forward to playing this guitar again when I’m back at the beach house. For 22$ there’s a lot of quality here. I’ll update on longevity!

These tuners are a nice replacement for the closed tuners of a very inexpensive but nice playing and sounding budget guitar that had tuners that could be improved on. I made sure the shaft of 6mm was compatible with the bushings already on the guitar and these fit in just right. I drilled new holes and the included screws are a nice quality, be careful not to screw them all the way in at once as this creates overheating and may snap the head off. When all the screws are started, rotate work and let the screws cool down a little. I put a drop of guitar tuner oil on the gears and am good to go. For a budget priced set of tuners that look great and work almost as well as what came with my $1000 + Godin acoustic I am very pleased. I upgraded the pegs, nut and saddle to bone and installed a nice pickup system, very little fret leveling, lemon oil and a nice pickguard, new #10 D'Dario strings and this is sweet. I have purchased 4 of these guitars and given them away after setting them up, Jasmine brand was the budget model of Takamine Guitars, made in Indonesia and I highly recommend you try them as a 1st guitar for someone; out of the box is OK, but a little proper set up is helpful.
