These are really great knives! I am a beginner and made the mistake of buying cheap, no-name brand carving knives first. I was getting discouraged and almost gave up on the hobby. I decided to spend a little more money and buy this set and I’m so glad I did. They came super sharp and ready to carve. If you’re on the fence, I say buy these. It’s a great set at a great price.

These are great knives being used by a beginner who is taking classes. I have small hands and these fit pretty good, not as bulky as some. I wish the knives came with covers most do not. I will buy more flexcut brand knives.

These were amazing right out of the package, but naturally needed to be stropped within about 30-40 minutes. That's pretty good, considering what I was carving with them. They're very good for what they're intended for. I advise to consider that they're an excellent value, and will last forever when taken care of, so maybe not a good choice for a starter set to abuse while learning. That's up to you though. They take a very fine edge, and hold it as long as can be expected. Even after carving for hours, the mirror finish was still there. Keep the edge aligned, and they probably won't need to be sharpened ever again.

I like these , sometimes better than the pro series. Little harder to strop , but I am getting better. Very solid and cut good deep lines.

Really good knives with a lot nice feature. I have large hands and they rest well in my hands. They come sharp, but resharpening them can be quite tedious. They have a small secondary bevel you can barely see it in the picture. I use an Arkansas stone to smooth that down, which has taken quite a while per knife. Then stropping also a while they are well worth the money and the extra work.

My son uses them to carve paddles and poles for canoeing.

I love these knives. I know that with most things, spending the extra few $ is worth the hassle of dealing with cheap alternatives. I bought a set of carving knives from here on Amazon and they were ok to get me into it but really nothing like these knives. They came quite sharp and retain their edge a lot (and I mean a lot) better than the cheap set knives. The compound was a little dried out but still fine and actually better than the set one. It just needs some heat. But I think the value for these 3 knives is worth it.

My first reaction on receiving them was that they were bigger than I had imagined. But each of the three blades have unique advantages. They arrived razor sharp and the sharpening compound helps keep them that way. The only small gripe I have is that the handle is very slick and slips if you your palms sweat.

Los cuchillos son de muy buena calidad, este es mi segundo juego ya que trabajo en dos lugares diferentes y para no estar llevando y trayendo en avión conseguí un segundo juego. Él filo se conserva muy bien y una vez asentados el mantenimiento es fácil de conservar, vale la pena el gasto ya que no son económicos.
