It did make it slightly darker, but dried evenly. I actually like the color better. So no, not slimy or hard. **Q: Will this product block sun from discoloring window seat cushions in my house?** A: I sprayed it on some clothing items outside 2 weeks ago. They still look great. But if your looking to help reduce fading of furniture I'm sure it works but for how long? Better choice is window tint.
