It works better on wet hair. I have Afro hair though, so results may differ.

How long does it typically last with normal usage?

Depends on hair length. Mine is very long and I have used this bottle twice and have over half left. I use a lot more than suggested. I've got it for travel because it's small.

Is this a hot oil treatment or do I use it after washing ?

After washing, before blow drying. A little goes along way
