When closed, it just hangs loosely without any crisp "click" to confirm it's locked. During a skirmish, a BB pellet hit the side of my helmet, and the night vision device, along with the mount, flew off and hit the ground. Thankfully, the lens didn't break, but my heart was bleeding all the way back as I picked it up.
