8' Telescopic Gate Brace - Wood Privacy Fence Anti Sag Kit - USA Made Brace (Extends 52" - 96" inches, Black)

So I bought the telescopic version of this because the description said a "pair" and I have a double, drive-thru gate that I needed to rebuild. That's my first complaint, the description was deceiving. My second complaint is the box amazon packed it in was huge and it appeared to me as if the whole thing punched it's way out the end and one of my "pair" was missing, the entire box was pretty much destroyed. The "remaining" brace had a slightly damaged center bracket. So I arranged with amazon to return my purchase as I told them one of the "pair" was missing. They shipped a replacement "pair" and I was to use the box the replacements came in to pack up and ship back the original order. When my replacements arrived I was very surprised to see that there was only one brace in that box too. When I went back to look it up on amazon I noticed that the description had been changed to indicate that a pair meant the two telescopic pieces! To make a long story short, I ended up keeping (and paying for) both braces and sucking up the loss. As for the braces, they work fine and are easy to install and adjust. They absolutely work as advertised and do a good job of helping to add stability to my assembled wooden gates (each gate is 6' by 6'). After the new gates had dried and shriveled (pressure treated wood) I went back and adjusted and since then they've been fine. If I'd known what these were gonna cost me to begin with (since they really weren't a "pair") I doubt I would have spent the money. Having said that, if you're looking for a solution to a sagging gate, these really do work.

I am very impressed with the quality of this item. Both side of my gate began to sag and were dragging on the ground. I researched different options and because each section is 6'x8' I didn't have a lot to choose from. I like the strength offered with this product and ordered 2 of them. The install was very easy and took less than a half an hour per side. (Even less for the second one). The trick of using a shovel and shims to lift the gate to the desired starting position was so helpful. Once installed, adjustments were so easy and the gates no longer sag or drag on the ground. Well worth the cost of the item.

Great idea, easy to install and it DEFINITELY works

If you are looking for something sturdy and durable, this is the product for you. It took me about 20 minutes to install. Once these were in place, I used a car floor jack to jack and hold the sagging gate in-place at proper height and tightened the bolts down. When I removed the floor jack, the gate held itself in place. Fantastic product, and would recommend to a friend.

UPDATE: I installed these on three gates in 2019 (see the review). Two of the products went on a set of double gates. One of those gates needed to be repaired recently. I completed the repair but it left the gates significantly uneven where they meet. I leveled them by adjusting the True Latch brace (lowering one and raising the other). The repair was a long and labor intensive job. It was such a joy to finish up with this easy and satisfying solution. I notice True Latch has upgraded the hardware. That was the one weakness with this product. It should be just about perfect now.

This latch is made with solid metal, looks very nice, was easy to put together and definitely solved my problem with my sagging gate. If you have a sagging gate and are considering any other solution, you won't go wrong with this product.

Worked great to help lift my fence gate up. Fairly easy install and nice to have a gate that latches easily again. Like that it’s adjustable. Tish high in price but not many out there I found that is adjustable so it was either this or other ones I didn’t know if they would do the job or not.

Exactly as advertised! I am 100% satisfied with this product and company. I had 2 saggy, dragging wooden gates. First gate took me about 20 minutes to figure out, well, because I’m the stereotypical man and didn’t bother reading the instructions. The second gate took five minutes. Both gates now work great! The second photo shows how much the brace adjusted the gate, the left side drug the ground and would only open half way. Thanks True Latch!!

After installing this gate brace, I was able to lift the sagging gate about 2-inches above the ground, which is quite remarkable. It only lifts the bottom of the gate though, and the top of the gate is still sagging in my gate. So, I am still having difficulties in closing my gate properly, which is kind of disappointing. But this is a good product, and it does what is advertised.
