Does this item come with instructions for fitting?

Yes it does and we are very pleased with it. Easy to fit and does the job really well. Safe and secure.

What are the dimensions of the metal catch. Mine has snapped to want to know if I can replace just that part. Thanks

Hi there, The dimensions are 40mm long from curved end to square end, by 20mm wide by 1mm thick. Hope that helps.

What’s the weight limit of the door you can’t use it on as my trap door is heavy wood ?

My door is 55x52x3cms and is solid wood. I don't know how much it weighs but the latch holds it very securely.

What's the diameter of the knob, please? I need it to fit into existing hole in the door.

If by "knob " you mean the notched circle that the loft opening pole fits into that turns. It's 3cms
