Good quality and good price

The '25 Sets Countersunk Bolts, M6x16 mm and M6 Flange Nuts, Stainless Steel' arrived in a plain box. I first checked that expected quantity of nuts and bolts were present by organising them in sets of 5; whilst doing to I was able to check that the nuts and bolts were of the correct style and generally the correct size. I then tested the fitment of the nuts on the threads of the bolts and encountered no issues whilst doing so. Using uncalibrated Vernier callipers I took measurements from the bolts to compare with the untoleranced dimensions on the product page; I also took measurements from the flange nuts, though no dimensions were provided for comparison. The measurements I obtained for the bolts were an Overall length of 15.73mm; a head diameter of 10.91mm, and a thread diameter of 5.83mm. After deducting from the overall length the thickness of the screw head which I measured at roughly 3mm; I would say that these bolts received are M6x13 and not M6x16 which is what was expected. I also took measurements from the nuts where I recorded a face to face dimension of 6.69mm; a diameter for the flange of 12.89mm; and a height of 5.80mm. I am sorry to say that although these nuts and bolts appear to be of good quality, they are the wrong size and under normal circumstance would have been returned; I have therefore given a 1 star review rating.

There's not much I can say about a set of 25 countersunk bolts with 25 flanged nuts to suit. This style of fixings do come in many varied sizes & lengths with the nuts to suit the size thread you would order. I wanted size M6 x 16 mm long so that is what this review is based on. The bolts are made too a good standard with clean cut threads, no burr's or rough edges. The nuts also have clean cut threads & run up the bolts easily. They have a nice sized flange although I often still use washers even with flanged nuts on certain jobs. They are supposedly made from 304 Stainless Steel & I would expect them to have a very good resistance to rust if they are 304 but only time will tell on that point. At time of this review the set of 25 of each at this size cost 6.29, that is a good price for what you get. Point of interest though is they come in a small cardboard box so an empty jam jar might be handy if you've got one laying about for you to store any you don't use straight away. Basic but useful, good price & acceptable quality.
