AMAZING for random kitchen experimentation
I bought this as a supplemental kitchen scale - not for anything critical (aka take this review with a grain of salt). I do a lot of experimentation in the kitchen and have slowly been shifting everything to be by weight when I'm experimenting and writing down my recipes. Recently, I bought fumaric, malic, and citric acid to create my own sour sugar coating for candies. You don't want to experiment with large quantities when doing this kind of stuff. Your typical digital kitchen scale suffers from two issues - they aren't sensitive enough to pick up small additions and they aren't accurate enough when working at the extremes of their measuring range. This means that, if you're careful and add <.5g at a time, you can actually get 10g of something on the scale and have it read only 2g because you've added things without having the scale register that anything has changed. The only downside to this scale is that my floors are a bit wiggly and this scale is so sensitive that someone walking by can actually change the measurement because they _slightly_ changed how level the countertop is. So I just avoid using my kitchen island with this scale.
