Simple, beautiful grinder
I am new to coffee and was looking to up my game by going from a blade grinder to a burr grinder. This Misetto grinder is at a great price point, so I gave it a try. I didn't realize it, but it comes in a very nice little travel case. The grinder is solid - perfectly sized for the hand with knurls and texture to get a good grip. The handle fits perfectly on the spindle - I mean perfectly. Slides on easily with no slop. Likewise the grounds cup at the bottom screws on and off securely and easily - this was machined to very precise tolerances. When grinding, everything is smooth and nearly effortless. My one complaint is that the manual isn't as clear as it could be for how to set the grind size. There are numbers on the dial - but I think those are kind of meaningless. The dial pointer is just a wingnut - the looser it is (turning it counter-clockwise), the coarser the grind. You can spin it entirely off. Likewise, the more you turn it clockwise, the smaller the grain. Eventually, you will make it as tight as it can go. The main thing is - it will spin around several times - so you don't know just by the number it is pointing at how coarse or fine the grind will be. You just have to experiment. Anyway, this is an excellent grinder - very well made, performs very well, and is a fantastic value.

THIS IS THE ONE SO STOP LOOKING
I must have read a dozen reviews before deciding on this little coffee grinder. MISETTO did not disappoint. It is a solid, well designed and constructed, all metal machine with NO plastic to break. It grinds coarse to superfine with easy, well defined detents for adjustment at the bottom. And is super convenient to clean by using a hair dryer (no heat) to blow loose grounds out of the grinding mechanism. AND ALL THIS AT HALF THE PRICE OF THE COMPETITION.

Very well-constructed (and looks great!) but it confuses me...
First, I will say, the customer service for this has been great! They got back to me very promptly and were very helpful and accommodating with a series of messages back and forth. I think I may have gotten a bad product so I'm probably going to get another one of this exact model to see if I'm the problem, or this particular one is. But if ANYONE could post a video of using this - especially how, exactly, to turn the coarse-ness knob - mine wouldn't budge! - I would REALLY appreciate it. I couldn't write the questions I needed to ask in the very few words Amazon allows for questions so I'm trying this to see if anyone can help. I've searched everywhere for a video demonstrating THIS EXACT model and can't find one. I wanted to LOVE this. I read the reviews and was prepared for the weird/incomplete directions. Right out of the box, this was sturdy and very cool looking. I was very excited. I'd had such bad luck with electric grinders dying after too-short of time. (I'm not a huge coffee drinker - a cup a day - so I just needed something small that wouldn't take up too much space in my tiny kitchen.) At first, this seemed to work well - as far as the mechanical grinding of the beans. However, no matter what I did, I could not move the dial that changed the coarseness of grind. I did everything the directions here (on Amazon page) said. (The included instructions with item ARE VERY incomplete.) After fiddling around with the coarse grind dial, the mechanical action no longer works. It wouldn't grind at all. The knob/handle still would spin and, if I took the bottom "bin" off I could see the mechanism working, it just wasn't "catching" the beans to grind them. So I just threw out a bunch of great coffee beans. The coarse-grand knob is immovable and now it doesn't grind beans at all.

Overall Excellent Quality
I brew with a french press and an espresso machine. Overall I'm very impressed. It is a bit heavier than expected but it is very high build quality. I do like that the grind adjuster is numbered. The grind is very uniform. The case is a great inclusion. This grinder should last a lifetime. Will update if I run into any issues. - Just a note, people have commented that the instructions are very concise. This is true, but all the necessary material is listed on the amazon page. Just take a picture of the listed grind recommendations.

Avoid like the plague
This is truly a study in Amazon deception. Just try to go to the website misetto.com. Webpage can't be reached. There are Obvious problems that are not mentioned in the positive reviews. If you actually open up the grinder and look at the Burr turning it clockwise. Opens the grinder up. Leading to a coarser blend. The reviews give a conflicting reports. That in itself should be a red flag. I went to Rufus. And it was a study in artificial intelligence confusion. I would make certain points and then it would completely change its advice. I would avoid this like the plague.

So Far So Good
I just received this yesterday and ground beans once, so take this review with a grain of salt - or a grain of coffee(!). It's well made. Tolerances and part fit is good. It even has a sealed bearing for the spindle, or axel that spins the conical burr. It's smooth and you can hear when the last of the beans have been ground. I have to say that the instructions stink. Neither in the description nor the instructions does it identify what number is the degree of coarseness or fineness of the grind. In case anybody is confused, number 11 is coarse, number 1 is fine. So far I think the grind selection is good. It also holds beans to make a 6 cup stovetop espresso maker, and probably 4 cups of press coffee (I don't do drip). IOW, at 25g max, it's enough to make enough coffee. Besides, if you are a true coffee connoisseur, you want to grind only enough for the moment, not the day after tomorrow or next week. My only apprehension is the finish on the exterior. I don't know if it's a physical/ chemical treatment of the metal (I assume it's aluminum) or if it's plated. It doesn't appear to be plated (shrug). My only other comment is that the top part of the grinder needs a rubber gasket where it meets the vessel that collects the grinds. It needs a bit of squish just like a mason jar lid. The case is nice, but be sure to brush out the grinder as it will leave grinds inside the case (Duh). I'm only giving it three stars because I haven't put enough miles on it. But so far so good. I will update the stars as time goes on. . .

A Quality Coffee Bean Grinder - Let It Do The Work
In my quest for a smooth cup of coffee, I've decided to grind my own beans that I purchase from a local Farmer's Market. This grinder caught my attention while researching brands, types and sizes. Here's my recommendation after several uses: 1. Don't fill the cylinder with more than a 1/8 measuring cup of beans, which equates to slightly over 4 tsp. (Using a measuring cup is less cumbersome than measuring out 4 individual tsp.) 2. When grinding, make sure the unit is held flat, and with a good grip on the counter in an upright position. 3. No need to go all Herculean when grinding - Let It Do the Work! A nice, smooth rotation with the handle is suffice. At first, I cushioned the cylinder with a dish towel, but in looking at the storage box that is supplied with the grinder, I noticed a much better and more stable option! (See attached photos!) I'm Very happy with this product!! This, along with a recently purchased electric percolator has reminded me what coffee is supposed to taste like - Smooth!
