The cable itself is a little thinner than I expected, so I'm not sure how well it would hold up under rough professional use or an environment with lots of electrical noise. But I much prefer the standard plugs on this one over the molded ones that come on many cables. When I first got it, one end was partially unscrewed. I'd guess it came loose during shipment. What the heck, just tighten it up. This gave me the idea to try using some threadlock (Loctite or similar) on the connectors to prevent loosening. After all these years of playing I had never thought of that before. Also, when it was brand-new I got some static noise through the amp. Unplugging the cable and plugging it back in cleaned things right up. This is a fairly common occurrence with plugs and jacks, often due to a tiny bit of corrosion or gunk at the contact point. The abrasion when unplugging and plugging back in serves to wear off the corrosion (or whatever) from the surface of the plug.
