I cut it to fit the shape of the container, wet it slightly, and then sprinkle cat grass seeds all over it. The cat grass grows incredibly well on this mat. In my opinion, microgreens also thrive on it better than in soil. I live in a townhouse with a small fenced-in backyard, but I’ve created a kitty jungle with this growing mat. My cats all love it, and it makes the process so much easier. After cutting the mat to fit the container, I let it grow for about a week before putting it outside for the cats.
