Product description Review: Absolutely thrilled with this. Great quality - Absolutely perfect fit for my Caldwell rest Review: Extremely smooth ball head mount - This review is based around using this for camera work. All the parts of this ball head seem to be aluminum or other type of metal, and are very well machined. This all metal construction even includes all of the knobs. All adjustments are buttery smooth, and the ball head force required to rotate has a wide range of clamping force even for heavy weights and large lenses. Rotation of the base is also very smooth, much smoother than my previous ball head. Not having used an arca-swiss mount before, it's definitely interesting compared to my previous snap-in type ball mount. Basically you have a range in which you can screw the camera/lens portion to the camera/lens. Then you can either slide it into the base, or, using the quick release latch, simply slot it in and then lock the latch. On the side of the base, there's a fine adjustment knob that lets you slide your camera slightly forwards or backwards, and even better there's a marked scale so that you can keep it consistent between mounts. The ball head is also literally half the height and weight of my previous ball head. It's amazing how far technology has come in this regard, especially at this very approachable pricing point. Definitely great for any tripod camera work. The only downside I can see is that it doesn't have any bubble indicators, but I never used them in my previous ball head anyway, and relied on the camera itself as that is more precise than any bubble indicators. Or you can just stick some small bubble indicators on if you really want. Highly recommended.

High quality, heavy duty ball head with strong hold and smooth adjustments
This is a very high quality and heavy duty tripod ball head. I am using it with a handheld light, and the quick release makes it easy to disconnect the light from the tripod whenever I need to. The hold is strong and the head has no trouble supporting my light, even when I attach a large softbox. Rotation and tilt adjustments are smooth, and I can position the light exactly where I need it. The metal processing quality stands out and gives the whole unit a solid, reliable feel. Overall this is an excellent product for the price. It performs well, feels durable, and is easy to use. I highly recommend it. Great job Fooletu!

Strong and flexible tripod ball head to support heavy equipment
Heavy duty ball head that can support large cameras and tele lenses securely. The Arca Swiss plate is standard and allows for multiple mounting feet or replacements as necessary. I like the large retention lever - great in the field for quick mounting/demounting when shooting sports or wildlife. Two slots for tilting the camera to 90 degrees is a welcome convenience meaning you don't always have to reposition the camera/tripod when flipping it for vertical shooting. The locking knobs are large enough to be operated with gloves on - a welcome feature in the field. Recommended!

Premium feel but missing some premium features
This tripod ball head is heavy-duty compared to my other ball heads. It is all aluminum and feels really sturdy when mounted on my Sirui tripod. It adds a lot of weight, so this isn't something I would carry on long hikes; however, the added weight is great for steadying my tripod during time lapses or when using long lenses. The ball head moves smoothly with very little friction. The dampening adjustment works well for fine-tuning the ball head and ensuring there is no play when tightening it down. The quick-release works great once you've set it using the fine adjustment knob, and the entire tripod swivels smoothly at the base. I did find that some of my other Arca-Swiss plates that work with my other tripod heads didn't fit this one since the base screws didn't line up. They all work together on the other heads, so I think this head is the issue. It's not a huge deal if this is your only tripod head, but if you're running multiple cameras and just keep your plates attached to them, it does slow you down when some of the other Arca-Swiss plates won't secure. There also isn't a bubble level anywhere on this ball head, so ensuring it is level will have to be done with the camera mounted to it. I haven't tried it with Picatinny rails since I don't have anything compatible, so I can't speak to the security or compatibility with that. Overall, it's a really solid ball head for a tripod. I just wish the Arca-Swiss compatibility was more refined and that it included a bubble level. At this price, range it has a premium feel but it is missing some premium features, they're worth noting and looking at other options when dropping this amount of money on a ball head.
