Review: Getting a new control board bought two of these and one board didn’t work and the other one popped - So you can wire them up into a 24 V sequence one panel panel to the other and then to the electrical control board but one of them the board popped and the other one the board don’t work maybe default boards but the solar panels themselves are working fine Between the two it showed 27.4 before it popped, not quite sure how it did so because I ran them in a sequence maybe they’ll send me a new board and I can give a better review

### ⭐⭐⭐ Easy to install, worked immediately, but all around low quality components

This solar battery charger was a breeze to install, but nothing in the kit feels like a quality product. It all feels cheap and easily breakable. I'd recommend that you install this in a weather proof location, shielded from elements or anything that could bump it. A rogue basketball will absolutely devastate this solar panel, so make sure it's in a safe location. Although the instructions aren't great, it was easy to figure out. 1. Install bracket on solar cell and place in stable location 2. Connect battery to regulator 3. Connect solar cell to regulator I installed this on a teenagers car who isn't ready to drive yet. While I have good intentions of going out to start the car and let it run to charge every month, sometimes months go by that I let it go, including over winter. The car isn't parked in a place where I could use a normal battery tender without running a long extension cord. Preferring not to do that, I bought the VEVOR Solar Battery Trickle Charger. The instructions say not to install this on a dead battery. So my first step was running a 60A fast charger on it for 30 minutes. That was enough to get the car to start and for the battery to read 12.6V. After that, I shut it back down and started the installation. First impressions of the solar panel: Attaching the bracket to the solar panel lead to my first disappointment. The bracket attaches with small bolts that push through the frame and lock in place using a wing nut. First problem - there is a bead of glue holding the photo cell to the frame that gets in the way of the bolt. When tightening the wing nut, you're constantly pulling the bolt into the glue. This means you can never really get enough tension on the wing nut to tightly hold the bracket. I ended up getting a hand tool and tightened the wing nut past the glue. Second problem. I felt like I was stripping or, even worse, stretching the threads on the bolt. Eventually I gave up on tightening the bracket for fear of stripping the bolts. At the tension I was able to apply, the bracket would not hold as the panel as positioned in this car. To workaround this issue, I fabricated a brace out of cardboard tube to prevent the panel from collapsing on to the bracket. You can see that handy work in the images. First impression of the regulator: The charge regulator feels cheap. Wouldn't expect much more for the price though, so it was expected. I disassembled the regulator to get a look inside. The screws that affix the back panel are tiny, and they're screwed into soft plastic standoffs. Taking off the back cover, there is one single screw (also on a soft plastic standoff) holding the charging board to the housing. Everything appeared to be fine, so I put things back together, being careful not to strip anything. The leads the come with this are cheap cheap cheap. The wire is very fine and will not stand the test of time. On the bright side, it uses a standard SAE Quick Disconnect, so you could replace all of the leads with higher quality if you wanted. The alligator clips are junk, so I may end up doing that if I have problems over time. I posted an image comparing the wire and alligator clips from this unit to some aftermarket battery tender leads I purchased on Amazon. The quality and durability difference is obvious. The aftermarket leads are item B0CM22L1WK. Ok, that was a lot of bad. But there's also good. When I connected the battery to the regulator, the device immediately recognized the battery and showed connection and voltage. When I connected the solar panel, the regulator immediately recognized the panel and began charging. It's only been installed a couple of hours. If things go south, I'll update this review accordingly. Otherwise, if this is the last thing I mention, the regulator must work fine and keep the battery charged. Since that's it's job, I expect it will do that, however poor the overall component quality.
