Review: Book Review for Personal Finance for Young Adults - I started reading this book because I know the author personally and because it is a subject which needs to be discussed. I remember long ago, when, as a young adult, I struggled to make ends meet. Actually, all my life I have struggled to make ends meet. All too often there was too much month at the end of the money. I was pretty much forced into setting aside money for retirement. Looking back, I am glad that happened. I was ignorant about what could and should be done. I had listened to some bad advice. I wish I had had this book back then. Brady's book is both thorough and easy to understand. It is an easy read even for someone whose eyes glaze over at the thought of finances. I have seen that glazed look in so many young adults when the subject comes up. Money is a little bit like eating. It is needed for a healthy today and tomorrow. But when one gets obsessed with it, real trouble follows. Mr. Smith takes a practical, common sense approach. Put an informed plan together. Stay educated on new tools and strategies. Stay motivated and disciplined. Make your nest egg grow. Brady lays it out in terms of how to get it done. Many young adults don't want to think about retirement. It seems so far off!. The odds are heavily in favor of them someday reaching retirement age and their ability to work for a living will be greatly diminished. If you don't do it, no one else will do it for you. So, do due diligence to take care of the old man/woman you will one day become. You will be glad you read this book and took it seriously. --- T. A. Smith
