Perfect Tape for Auto Projects – Sticks Well, Peels Clean!
I recently used the 3M Automotive Refinish Masking Tape (06652, 18mm x 55m) for a car repainting project, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. This tape really delivers on what it promises. First off, the adhesion is excellent — it sticks firmly to both metal and plastic surfaces without lifting, even in slightly humid conditions. I was impressed that it held its place during sanding and light prep work. The crepe backing is flexible enough to make tight curves and edges easy to tape off, which was a big help around the headlights and trim. When it came time to remove it after painting, it peeled off cleanly without leaving residue or damaging the fresh paint. That’s a huge plus. It also resisted bleed-through better than cheaper brands I’ve tried. Whether you're doing a full repaint or smaller touch-ups, this tape is reliable and consistent. I’ll definitely keep a few rolls of this in my garage from now on. Highly recommended for both DIYers and professionals!

no residue tape, used it to tape decor on the golf carts and it stuck and also was easy to remove without any residue

Great product
There are many cheaper tapes on the market but when u r in the middle of painting your car, the last thing u want is for tape to come loose. I use the green tape for paper-to-paper affixing but when it really matters, I use the more expensive yellow.

Good stuff
Works perfectly for the side skirt rock guard revamp I did. Like all painting tapes and masking tape, it's a bit of a pain to follow a curve while still keep uniform.
