A GREAT Razor Knife
I have purchased quite a lot of these kinds of knives in the 50+ years that I have been working. Nearly every knife I have had required a screw driver to change blades, or in the case of the Stanley "quick change" models, the blade would sometimes disengage itself when you were applying pressure to the cutting edge and pulling back on the knife. (A common motion.) More than once, the blade would stick in whatever material I was trying to cut, and if you weren't careful, you could cut yourself trying to extricate the blade from whatever it was now stuck!THIS knife has NEVER lost its blade. The body of the blade is made of strong material, and it fits your hand quite comfortably. The slider that moves the blade in and out and adjusts the amount of blade that is exposed works very well. Whatever amount of blade you want exposed is easily selected, and the blade stays where you set it. ALL of these attributes are equal to or superior to any other razor knives I've ever used.But... and THIS IS A BIGGIE! NO OTHER razor knife is designed to allow easier, or safer, or quicker blade changes. This is the biggest reason I am willing to pay the extra amount that this tool commands. It is definitely worth the money!A slider locks the two sides of the knife together, and it STAYS locked. To change the blade, slide the lock to unlock; press the silver button, and the two halves easily separate. Lift out the old blade and either rotate it 180 degrees to use the other end of the blade, or drop in a new blade. Put the two sides together, and slide the lock to locked. That's IT! 15 seconds if you are slow (or accidentally drop the blade) 5 seconds once you have done it a few times. There is space in the handle to store 5 extra blades.All-in-all, the best razor knife I've ever used!

Working great on cardboard
The Lutz 88 has been working very well for me, substantially better than a few other brands I have tried. The bottom and top overlap where the blade come out makes it very solid when side torque is applied. Much better value than most cutters, even though it costs a few dollars more that the average big box store specimen. I added a small amount of grease on internal bearing surfaces, which has turned it into a very smooth operator, and it still stays locked in position. I wasn't sure if this model had multiple blade settings, but luckily it does - 3 different open lengths, and closed (of course). I'll give it 4.5 stars, it could be lighter weight and a bit grippier (I added rubberized grip tape).

Not so easy for a novice
This is a nice, well constructed utility knife that is sturdy and feels good in the hand. BUT, if the two halves part and the blade and it's holder become disengaged, good luck putting it all back together! My guess is that the reviewers who claim changing blades is easy as 1-2-3 are old hands. I'm ready to throw the darn thing through the window!

sturdy knife, easy to use
This knife works fine and seems sturdy; it appears to be painted metal. Changing the blade is easy enough if you are careful. I have no problem with the positions of the buttons and slider.

The thumb slide for extending and retracting the blade is ...
The thumb slide for extending and retracting the blade is very difficult to operate. Throwing it away--not worth the cost of returning.

Best utility knife to own
This is the Best utility knife you'll ever own. I keep one of these in my tool bag ,I've owned it for five years and I never oil or grease it and it always opens right up to easily change the blade. Every other quick change utility knife I've ever owned has not worked ,this is the only one that truly is a quick change blade knife.
