my 3-year-old son loves it
First we borrowed this book, a Chinese language version, from school library. The illustration is pretty good and full of the animals children will like. My 3-year-old son often picked it from several other books and asked me to read with him. Since it is a Chinese translation, the sentences do not rhyme (I learned this from the reviews written by other amazon readers). Therefore I ordered the English version which I find is a lot better. We like this book and I think we don't need to be critical about the story itself.

Sweet story
This is a really sweet book. Leo doesn't want to hunt his prey, he wants to be their friends. As he is outcast from his pride, he stays true to his inner self. He makes many friends along the way! This book really encourages not always going with the flow and being a true friend and peace maker. His pride comes around to seeing that he truly is a king. Great little story for instilling sweet values and confidence in young ones.

Great author and terrific illustrator!
I love this author and the illustrator! I have several of their books! My kids love them and we read them almost every night. The words and stories are fun and the colors are bright and animated. I would buy any book that had the name of these two on it!!!My favorite has been Rumble in the Jungle!

Such a cute story
I love this book and so does my daughter. I actually recommended it to a group that does story time for kids on a weekly basis and they approved it as well!

Not worth it, go for author’s other books
The media could not be loaded. I bought this book because my kids love lions and we’ve been big fans of Giraffes Can’t Dance since they were really little. This story and the main character are not as well developed or memorable. Even my lion obsessed kids still reach for Giraffes Can’t Dance and Be Brave Little Penguin over this one. Go for those if you want cute stories with nice illustrations and positive messages.
