I obtained these to evaluate if they were suitable for use with a few future projects I have in mind regarding adding some simple quick decoupling for some in car electronics, an extended UPS power bank, and a number of other high current, low voltage hookups. Overall they seem quite up to the job and seem to be made to the same standard and from the same materials as other commercial branded connectors of this kind, which I have seen in use on fork lift trucks and in large battery backup systems. When it comes to assembly, all parts click together with ease, and with a little mechanical knowhow of the latch mechanisms, can be dismantled again for repair if ever needed. The plug assembly unlike some other examples also makes sure to deeply recess the crimped cable sheath into the body, giving reasonable confidence that the connector itself should never be the reason for a cable short occurring. Everything also clicks together with confidence and the whole assembly should remain quite robust. Due to the general construction of plugs like this however, I would not recommend installing them in areas directly exposed to the elements, as corrosion and other issues could occur. Therefore this connector should at least be installed either in a cabinet/box that keeps such conditions out. Finally, in using these it is recommended that you have, or have access to a heavy duty battery cable crimping tool for most variants of these connectors - AWG 4 terminal posts are a minor challenge to crimp with your regular pliers!

These are mahoosive. Got these as a battery quick disconnect, and for that they are just the job. You do need the correct crimp tool however, or a very serious soldering iron. No - forget the soldering iron - these are crimp, so don't forget to order the tool to go with. Decently made, easy to assemble, mate sensibly as they should for carrying serious current. Takes a cable 10mm diameter (NOT Area - 10mm cable will rattle in these) , or about 8AWG - 80/0.2 Just be careful - at these currents, mistakes are going to catch fire.
