Not engraved. It’s like a vinyl wood front but still looks nice.Took off one star for the sides. Wish the sides were painted or the wood look wrapped around as when you hang it up you can see the unfinished wood (see picture)Updated- took off 2 stars... it is not flat so it does not lay nicely against the wall when hung.
