Love this kit! Everything you need to start your new embroidery hobby! It’s taking awhile to complete, but I’m enjoying everything in this kit.

The typical embroidery kits that I buy are usually just on a piece of fabric. This kit is different in that you actually embroider on a tote bag- a useful item to use AFTER you embroider on it. I really like this. Its something I don't have to just hang on the wall, its actually useful. Now, one may want to cover the backside of your embroidery once you're done - iron on interfacing or even sewing a piece of canvas on the back to cover the back side of the embroidery. This way you won't catch the back side stitches when you put things into the bag. I'm not sure how "beginner" this is as you have to manipulate the bag to work from the inside of it and make sure you aren't sewing through both layers of it. It takes a bit more coordination. I do like that this kit comes with all the colors of floss that you would need, and the picture directions are marginal. If you have a little bit of experience with embroidery, this is a nice gift- to either make yourself and give the end product as a gift, or to give the kit ot someone who enjoys embroidery.

This is a great set for anyone looking to get into embroidery. It comes with everything you need and at $15 that's a great value to have all the thread you need, scissors, a hoop, and a tote bag. The design is pretty and the instructions are sparse yet clear. The tote bag is on the smaller size and isn't the highest of quality, but it's still a fun project to work on, whether you're an adult or kid. I'd say this is good for tweens and up - you're using an embroidery needle after all. It's nice to have the hoop, needle, and scissors to use on another project too.
