Yes you can, it all depends on where you grip the band with your hands to add more or less resistance, so some of the band can hang loose. Some people also loop the band over their shoulders, but this isn't as versatile to be able to alter the amount of resistance. There are plenty of ways shown online in videos on how to do it these ways and other ways to achieve the deadlift resistance.

Hi If you look after them properly and don't let them come into contact with sharp / rough surfaces which degrades the rubber there is no reason why they shouldn't last for many years.

How do u know which u need to help with pull ups?

There is a colour coded guide with this product and you can see it in the pictures when buying the product but on average if your doing 10 pull ups and your under 75kg in weight then purple or green pending your fitness level over 75kg green or blue
