This is a very good book, and entertaining
A Kid's Review:What I liked about this book was the choose your own adventure format. There were three story paths: Belgian Defense, British Offense, and American Reinforcements. I "died" a lot, but eventually I made it through all three story lines "alive."There were some good illustrations, like cavalry and ambulances. The cover image is a photograph of British soldiers riding a tank. I recommend this for other kids. I learned about the Belgian ambulance service and I learned more about trench warfare.Parent Note: we took our family to the World War I museum in Kansas City - an excellent museum.

These are so fun and educational! We use these for living history in our homeschool. My 4th grader is finally interested in history because of these!!

Sure to please elementary school readers & Social Studies teachers!
The You Choose series is basically the modern version of the Choose Your Own Adventure Books. What is great is that although they are historical fiction books, they do include relevant facts and photos of actual people and places important to that time period or subject. They have them in a wide range of topics (and often more than one book related to a larger topic like WW2 or the Civil War). They are perfect for intermediate elementary grades and even work well as read-alouds.

Seems like it could be a decent book if it had ...
Bought this book new, but think I got a misprint. The copy I received starts on page 17. Hopefully I can get a replacement that has the full story. Seems like it could be a decent book if it had all the pages.

Grest way to get 3rd And 4th graders interested in history
My son has read most of the series and learned a great deal from these well written interactive history books. I would definitely recommend them! They are easy to read, and very interesting. The possibility to "choose your ending" keeps kids interested. Great for 8 and 9 year olds. A must read!

Small Book!
I was unaware that the book was half the size of a regular book, but I guess that is my fault for not reading the description. I think it should mention it elsewhere...most people assume books are the size of a regular book.
