This book WILL change your life!
For most people life consists of suffering through school, suffering through a job you hate and then eventually retiring too tired and too poor to do any of the things you've always wanted to do. I was headed this way myself...Till a friend suggested I read this book. At first I was sceptical at best, and totally dismissive at worst....Until one night, bored at work, I found the copy I had been given in the bottom of my bag. I started to read it and only because I'm stubborn did I read past the first few pages. At first all I could see was some rich guy rubbing my nose in the fact that he had heaps of money an time on his hands and plenty of it to waste on writing a book....I told my friend this and he laughed saying that many people think this at first. That was when he introduced me to the game CASHFLOW (based on this books lessons and information and also made by the same guy who wrote the book. After playing the game for only a few minutes, suddenly some of the stuff I had read in the book started to make sense. It couldn't be that simple could it? Some guys book and a game can teach you the lessons you need to let go of the old way of doing things and not only free yourself from the endless wheel of work to pay the bills but make you money start to work for you the way it should!?!? When I asked this same questions of my friend, he just smiled and said,"Now read the book again". Over the next month, I went back through the book, taking notes and highlighting parts I wanted to explore more. I did a lot of research (and then got this book on Kindle so I can reference stuff easily)...We've since passed that old copy of the book onto several other people and whilst all of us are still working, our mindsets have changed and we are all making serious inroads into getting OUT of the rat-race. Thankyou Robert Kiyosaki, you have changed our lives. I cannot stress enough how much this book is worth. Highly recommend it to anyone sick of "working for the man" and getting nowhere fast but always feeling tired.

This book will make you believe that the American Dream is possible - financial freedom!
If you are looking for a book that will not only clarify all the misinformation that's out there about money but will also make you literally question how you view money and even what money is then this is the book for you! I thank Robert Kiyasaki for opening my eyes and countless others to the possibility for everyday Americans being able to accomplish what many call the American Dream with passive income and investments. Much more than just solid advice - it's also a blueprint to get you there as well. He explains how we as a society have begun to view all debt as bad. He explains though that there is bad debt which is in the form of personal debt such as credit card debt, student loans, car loans, even your personal mortgage (which he explains that you're house is not actually an asset but a liability). There is however good debt which is used as a vehicle to purchase assets (which he defines simply as something that puts money in your pocket). He further explains that a life in pursuit of obtaining assets (instead of liabilities) will lead to financial security and the best kind of income - passive! Don't pass up his book if you're looking for financial life change!

Rich Dad, Poor Dad...Good Book?
I ordered this book with some skepticism. I am certainly not looking for a "get rich quick" solution, nor did I hope that Kiyosaki would somehow "change my life". After coming across this author for years and reading mixed reviews, I caved in and finally downloaded the book. Now, after a quick and easy read, I can say I actually enjoyed the book and the messages Kiyosaki conveyed. Many have debated whether this is a story based on reality, or if the two dads - Kiyosaki's traditional and conservative "real dad" vs. his friend's dad who taught him a new way of thinking about wealth and entrepreneurism -were real at all. Frankly I don't care. The stories were interesting and entertaining and I feel that the intended lessons were good ones for readers of all types. If you want an enjoyable and somewhat inspirational book that shares alternative views on money, wealth and happiness woven into a pseudo-autobiography (fictional or otherwise), I'd recommend Rich Dad Poor Dad. I appreciate the author's perspective on how to change your mindset in order to grow. But if you want a get rich quick manual, you should continue helping others like Kiyosaki get rich quick by buying all their products with misguided expectations.

Great Practical Advice
The first several chapters of this book made think I was back in my grandfathers living room listening to him give me financial advise. Most important point in the book was, "make your money work for you." My grandfather used to say this to me over and over again. It's amazing how those who have accumulated wealth though complete strangers give the same advice. I don't think the book was as much a blue print for wealth creation as it was a rough sketch. You won't be able to take this book by itself and plan out your fortune. If you could Mr. Kiyosaki wouldn't have needed to write his other books. However, this is a great starting point for someone who is not very confident and/or uncertain on how to start investing. There are is very profound advice on the skills that every entrepreneur needs: accounting, marketing, and sales skills. The idea that fear and greed are what keeps people from investing is spot on. The fearful are afraid to start and the greedy can't handle market fluctuation. I highly recommend this book to a beginner.

LIFE CHANGING BOOK!!!!
First off I must start by saying that THIS BOOK HAS CHANGED MY WHOLE PERSPECTIVE ON MONEY!!!! Now I started practicing a new way of thinking and living at age 19 (I am currently 27 yrs of age) and I've always came across this book but never took the time to read it. I am now realizing that I had to read, learn, and experience other things in life that would prepare me mentally for this book so that when I finally read this book I could understand and appreciate the value that this book holds. This book is powerful I mean it is really magic in the pages of this book and I plan on riding it again and again and passing it down to my household, friends, and family. After reading this book it is a must that I read more books by Robert Kiyosaki, subscribe to his website, read books by his wife and any other authors that he recommends and I cannot wait to play his cash flow games I'm super excited and that. Last but not least I cannot wait to teach this financial education concept to my children once I decide to have some one day. There is no doubt in my mind that with the tools I've learned from Rich Dad Poor Dad, that I am on the road to financial freedom thank you so much Robert Kiyosaki you are inspiration to my future....

A good read, informative for someone who is truly from the "wrong side of the tracks"
I have not yet finished this book but am enjoying it thus far. It has the usual pitfalls of "success secrets" type of books in that the writing is not great and ideas are repeated numerous times (ostensibly to help drill it into the readers head but perhaps more likely to fill up some pages to make the book seem more significant than it is). But Kiyosaki is only doing what all the other guys do to sell their titles on becoming wealthy! I am truly the son of poor parents who had minimum paying jobs their entire lives and never understood enough about money to be able to offer any legitimate advice to their offspring. As such I have wasted too much of my life not building my wealth but rather "investing" more or less in what Kiyosaki calls liabilities whenever spare money was to be found. I don't know why at this particular time I'm feeling inspired by this particular title - it's likely no better, but certainly no worse than other writers - but I do recommend it especially for those of us who genuinely have no idea how differently those with wealth think and how they view money and wealth. At the ripe old age of 52 I'm hoping it's not too late to begin amassing my wealth!

'Clairvoyant'
I prize this book. This is oen book that we all have to have dog eared because of how it fits into our lives and helps us to fill the gaps we have been searching for wasy to fill. A total bible on the concept of getting rich. Kiyosaki gets down to the point of the principle of getting rich. No hassle, no complexities. Its simple, the rich have money work for them, acquiring things that put money into their pocket and the poor do the opposite. After reading this book, and you attempt to apply the principles, I can ASSURE you that your mindset will have changed into a higher level of thinking completely. Creative ways will be revealed in your imagination as the knowledge from this book saturates your mind. I recommend this book to be bought for self-acquisition, as a gift to friends and even to teenagers. I even have bought one to add to my 2+ year old's collection for read when eh gets older. I will be buying his other books especially for teaching kids about money. Robert you are a blessing to us.

There are better options
There are definitely some ideas worth noting in here, however, never stop thinking for yourself. This book reminds me of a lot of books, websites, etc. designed with information that will sell to make the creator rich, not necessarily the buyer. Keeping that in mind, I do agree with many of the main points: encouraging creative solutions, making your money work for you, taking some risks, making sure you set aside money for investment regardless of your financial position, and going into situations with your eyes open. Think. Do your homework. Then give it a try. While I don't agree with everything, this book is definitely worth reading to at least broaden your view. And some of the advice is applicable beyond finances. Whatever your dream, do not let your fear or the fear of others stand in your way.
