The label says the surface is 100% cotton & the bottom layer is polyester, so I’m guessing it’s made of two layers stitched together. Either way, the material feels soft but not silky soft & it’s very lightweight. It’s also a bit on the thinner side for a sweater, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. As far as quality goes, it seems pretty decent. I actually expected it to shrink a bit after washing, but it held its shape well. There was no noticeable shrinking & the colors didn’t fade either. That’s a plus, since it means he’ll be able to wear it for more than one season. Overall, this is a nice sweater for spring, fall, or mildly cool weather. It’s light, comfortable & has a relaxed fit. Since it doesn’t shrink and the colors stay true after washing, I’d recommend them, especially if those things are important to you. For the price, I think it’s fairly priced for a cotton sweatshirt with this level of quality.

That is the main reason for the reduction of two stars as I have T-shirts that are thicker than these.
