AXITRON 12V 6W Bicycle Motorized Bike Friction Generator Dynamo Headlight Tail Light Kit

Great price for a vintage product but didnt like that it dont come with better instructions.

I bought these for some motorized bikes, and at first was disappointed, no real instructions to speak of the Gen was coming apart with wires breaking away from soder points. I had to make my own head light bracket as what they send fits nowhere on the front of a bike.With all that said I looked up vintage photos of how/where to install cut and drilled a cheap flat strap from Lowe's for a mount and a touch of soder (my 10 yr old did the sodering) on the broken wires.....these work so much better then expected and there is a catch/release lever on the Gen mount to keep it from running all the time. Peddling you can feel the drag a bit but it lights up, running the 80cc bike motor these are as bright as motorcycle or car head lights as long as your moving.

I tried very hard to install this product. Never could get the tail light to work and the headlight was VERY dim. I did scratch the paint from my bicycle to make sure of the ground. GAVE UP.....not happy with product or installation instructions.

It's good, it does its job. it was frustrating to install because it doesn't work if it's not grounded. it also makes the ride more difficult, because it is a little harder to pedal and it is noisy, so I do not recommend it on bikes that are going to be used by children, because the noise it makes prevents them from hearing if a car is coming and they do not listen to you if you yell at them to announce a danger.

The product allows me the demonstrate the transfer from mechanical to electrical energy. I also demonstrates how friction is a force.

This is the same exact kit we bought back in the 70's from the hardware store before internet. Good quality toy, has extra bulbs, but no new tech here. It's perfect for a young rider that that has safety in mind an wants a headlight for evening rides. It's sturdy metal brackets easy install. Retro teardrop head light and cool little bullet tail light.

I bought this to install on my mountain bike, there is no possible way this will fit on anything other than a 10 speed or slim competition racing street bike. Mountain bike frames are way to thick. Maybe the manufacturer can add an adapter to this kit for thicker frames. Otherwise , they work as described.
