Not bad, but...
I bought this for my 3-year old brother. He tried it a few times, but really never liked it. He has a scooter that he zips all around the place with, so to get on this bike and awkwardly try to waddle around on it has no appeal. If he was younger, and/or had not already been using the scooter, it might have held his interest more.BEWARE: the bike comes with a generous 60-day "Love it or Leave it" return guarantee, BUT only if you buy it directly from the company. If you buy it elsewhere it does not apply.

fabulous for kids
Love this bike about as much as my son does. Got it for his 2nd birthday and he was soon enough zooming around with ease. The bike itself is excellent quality - it has survived countless puddles, dirt roads, beaches, rainstorms, and whatever else and is still in great shape. Now today at age 4 we put my son on a pedal bike for the very first time, and already after just a few tries he's got it - without ever using training wheels. Fantastic! That's the real testament to these bikes, and from what I've seen this one in particular is the best on the market. (sidebar - there are tricycles at my son's preschool where he learned how to pedal, so after mastering balance on the balance bike and learning how pedals work, transitioning him to a regular pedal bike has been a piece of cake....)

Brilliant. Successful.
This bike is the best investment I could have made. My older son learned with traditional training wheels. He's been reluctant to let us take them off and has been working very hard to learn to ride with 2 wheels. He's 7, and his 3-year-old brother is zooming around him on his Strider. The bike came very naturally to my little guy and within 2 months he was gliding around with his feet up off the ground. Uphill, downhill, down stairs (unfortunately) and into ditches, the bike has held up and taught him perfect balance. I wish I could go back in time and get one for my older son. The concept is brilliant and the bike has absolutely done its job.

Forget the training wheels and buy a balance bike...
My son was the first in three preschool classes to ride a bike without training wheels (60+ kids). I never even put training wheels on his peddle bike. After about a year - 18months on balance bile, it took him about 30-40min TOTAL time to figure out how to peddle and balance his bike.
