Works great in our outdoor fountain

Brought this to replace a Sunterra that went belly up when someone jarred the water tube to the top bowl loose and emptied the fountain onto the ground. Of course this blew the pump. I found this pump to work fairly well. As with most small under water pumps like this, it has an adjustable flow control. I found mine worked better with out it so I removes that item. In my case, I have the pump in a small outdoor fountain which has a tendency to get leaves and other items in it, so I've jury rigged a small plastic coffee filter to servce as a filter to keep junk out of the pump and this works pretty good. After the older pump was burnt out, I changed to a more simplified set up without the connecting tube and so the water exits out the top of the pump and hits a defector which causes it to fall back into the fountain without a lot of splashing. Works great. I was used to the Sunterrs's intake adjustment which is different from this pump, but after using this one, have found that being able to remove that adjustment item really works pretty good. A great small fountain pump!

should have bought a larger pump since the lift on my fountain is about 20 inches and this does not deliver much water at that height.

I bought this for a small fountain in an old whiskey barrel. It is small and very simple but works just as well as the fancier one it replaced. It is a good value for a small pump.

I'll be honest, I probably should have bought a little stronger pump. But, that said, I did my research at the manufacturer's website and replaced the exact same size pump (identical tech specs) for my small fountain albeit a different brand. I found that this pump did not provide the same water volume movement as the previous one and I changed nothing, using the same connection tubing etc.My fountain has only about a 7" rise and this pump provides for only a small bubbling effect. I'd prefer a bit more movement and so would my dogs! LOL...I use it for a dog waterer :-).The pump is very small, easily connected and hidden. I do not like the fact that rather than a flow toggle on the pump itself, the pump came with an adapter that has a flow valve on it instead. Great, except if that's not the way you want to, need to, or can hook it up....it's worthless. I'm trading up to a better pump but if 80GPH is all you need, Beckett is very reliable as I have used them for well over a dozen years or so with great longevity and ease of use.

The pump works great, but it is in a bird bath, it gets clogged up with all the bird stuff in the water, just have to keep the water clean.

Not good for larger fountains or ponds. Water flow is low because pump is very small. Good for small fountains only.
