LapGear MyStyle Lap Desk - Be Kind - Fits up to 15.6 Inch Laptops - Style No. 45313

I had been looking for a desk for my 6 year old to use while we traveled 12 hours away. This was perfect--it stayed in her lap and was easy to move out the way when not in use. Colors are great and I know it will work with her as she grows and good for using around the house as well.

I originally bought this item for myself two years ago at a retail store. I use it in the flat position for my for my laptop and find it very comfortable and durable. It protects my lap from the heat of the computer, has a non-slip surface and a guard that can be opened to keep the laptop from sliding back. I also store some paperwork inside the lapdesk. My eighty-three year old mom tried mine, in one of the adjustable positions, for her IPAD and loved it. Prior to this, she had been placing her IPAD on a pillow on her lap to use it comfortably, but the pillow tended to shift around. Because I was out of state and her local branch of the retail store had closed down, I searched online and found that Amazon carried the same item and she had it in just a few days. The only reason I gave it four stars, instead of five, was because she has trouble opening the latch on hers, which is very tight. I also had some difficulty with hers, but just placed a small piece of paper in her latch which keeps it from locking too tightly.

I use it to sit 8n my chair and play a game. It is comfortable and does the job well.

So just ok for the price. The bag contains what feels like styrofoam bb's and by mushing them around with your legs you can get the surface to adjust about to where it is comfortable for you. The top is a smooth, shiny almost slick surface but my laptop has rubber feet so slipping off isn't an issue for me. If your laptop doesn't have rubber feet and you squirm around while using this you're going to have a problem!My big knock on this thing is that the styrofoam balls retain body heat and my legs get warm when in contact with it for not too long at all. Better than the straight fan exhaust located on the bottom of my laptop (whose idea was that anyway?!?), but not by much.And, oh yeah, the dorky color and print schemes available -- but hey, I was shopping price and function so, eh, that's on me. That's it. (Do they make these things with cooling fans?)

It's amazing that no one else seem to make this product, because it's such a simple design. Overall, it's perfect as a lap desk that keeps the laptop from slipping and the family jewels safely sheltered from the furnace above them. Overpriced at over twenty bucks, but exactly what I was looking for. Would have given it five stars if it was half the price -- a price point, I'm convinced, that would still yield the manufacturer a healthy margin.

I bought this to replace a lap table I had for many years that was looking very tatty and did not have much cushioning left in the support cushion.. This product is lovely - such a cute and pretty design. The pillow bit is ery well filled with tiny polystyrene balls - so sits very well on the lap. Great for meals, the laptop or doing some writing. Very happy with my purchase.
