If used nightly, you would more than likely use it up before it expires as it's a very small tube. Eye cosmetics are recommended to change out every three months. That being said, each morning I gently wash the ointment from my eyelids/eye lashes, pat dry then use eye drops made for contact lense wearers to help remove any residue film from my eye.
