JualHelsinki Compact Walnut and Glass Desk

Bought one of these a few years ago and pleased to be able to purchase another. Slight difference in colour next to the original (could be fading). Glass doesn't seem to fit so well and leaves a few mil gap inside the wood sides. Otherwise a great looking desk for the money with plenty of size and configuration options.

I had to assemble this table myself but it was so easy I enjoyed it and will do it again and again. It's really beautiful when assembled. I love it. The dark glass is what gives it he beauty, and the curved legs too. I could not fix the plywood at the back of the table, I didn't want it anyway so when I couldn't fix it, I just threw it into my store room. I eeded my feet to get some fresh air so that back panel is not necessary anyway. The good thing is, the dark glass is not fixed to the table. You just place it into the space and it stays in place. So you can easily remove it when you want. It lifted the look of my sitting room. Good stuff. I will definitely recommend 100%.

Love the desk. It would have been 5 stars, but the wood on one of the corners was slightly chipped. Only noticed the chip once we'd built the desk, so couldn't be bothered to return it.

Desk looks very nice. Included also is a wooden backing panel which is not shown in the photo. I have no attached this, as I didn't want it. If you do want it...it looks very fiddly to attach!

Fell in love with this desk when I viewed it online and it didn't disappoint at all when it arrived. Wonderful design, quite unique and looks great. Would definitely recommend.

A fantastic desk. Wish the instructions had been a little clearer but the desk itself is gorgeous!

Sometimes you get a cheap item and you get disappointed in which case you say to yourself "you get what you pay for". So even though I could get a desk for a quarter of the price, I decided to go for this one because I liked how it looked and it ticked all the boxes, like colour, style, size etc. I paid just under £200 so I thought to myself it must be good quality, even more so reading previous reviews.If you look at the photos carefully you'll notice that there are only 4 screws on each side keeping the desk together. Two screws at the top, on the metal frame holding the glass top, and two screws on the bar at the bottom back of the desk. This means that no matter how tight you screw these screws you will never get a sturdy desk that will not vibrate your monitor when you type, write or clean your glass top. I think if they would have included some washers that might have helped as I could have tightened the screws more without risking to damage the wood parts.Also, there are some areas of wood (granted tiny in size), usually on the edges or where two pieces meet, that were not stained properly with the brown wood stain. This is very rather shabby, something I didn't expect to see considering the price I paid.In the end, I must say I cannot recommend this desk. Might only want to consider it if it is going to get very light use, like reception.
