The Judy Garland Christmas Album

Judy is Judy. I am glad now I have some Christmas holiday music of hers to play. What can I say? It is a bonus to my Judy collection and it will be worth every penny to add it to yours. Go ahead and buy it. You won't be sorry you did. You will wish you had more to buy.

Expected it a little different. Didn't know it was a live-recorded thing

A big disappointment. Poor quality (taken from television shows) gibbering, giggling, wrong words sung, not together, and a bunch of non-Christmas songs. Some parts sounded unrehearsed. A couple chorus parts in a medley were the highlights.

Some just Judy but lots of duets. Lots of fun to listen to - don't wait for Christmas because there are plenty of non holiday songs.

Since this album (which I own) is based on the live 1963 TV special, it may make more sense to get the DVD: The Judy Garland Show, Vol 03 - The Christmas Show (Show 15) That said, I love the nostalgia of this show's album with Judy, and her kids (Lorna, Liza and Joe) along with special guests Mel Torme and Jack Jones. It wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't play this for myself, friends and family... I appreciate the bits of "corn-iness" and mistaken lyrics sung... just shows me that "stars" can be human like you and me!

It is a terrible! terrible! quality. I should have expected it as it was based on TV shows, but its not really worth listening to.

None of the songs are good. I was hoping to get the original version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" from "Meet Me In St. Louis", but all I got was a crappy live version. Her years of alcoholism really took its tole on her voice. Sad story, but sad performance too.
