Unlike smooth leather, which can look very worn and beaten, suede and nubuck leather look old and tired. Pedag Suede, Sheepskin, Nubuck Leather and Textile Care Kit contains the tools you need to keep your shoes, boots, clothing, and even furniture looking new. On suede and sheepskin, use the brass bristles on the suede brush to remove surface dirt. In Nubuck and Textiles use the rubber bristles in the suede brush. Nubuck and textiles are durable, but usually not as thick as suede. Then use the side fan on the brush to remove dirt and debris from the tight spots. Use the eraser to very gently remove surface stains and marks (especially soft with nubuck and textiles). Brush off the residue from the eraser. Shake the container of Suede Care Color Restorer, unscrew the top and press the sponge applicator firmly against the shoe until the liquid contents begin to flow. Evenly cover the surface and let the liquid dry for about 10 minutes. Suede Care Color Restorer renews color (the neutral color will brighten and refresh all colors, but doesn't add color), while also helping repel dust, dirt and water. Then use the soft rubber bristles of the suede brush to restore the luxurious nap that makes suede and nubuck so charming. Experiment: brush the suede, sheepskin or nubuck with the grain for a soft, smooth color or against the grain of the leather for a brighter color and a different look. Caution: Color Care helps repel water, but is not a complete waterproofer. Pedag makes waterproofers ideal for all leathers and textiles, but other manufacturers also make suitable waterproofers. FYI: If your clothing or footwear has high-tech breathable membranes, make sure waterproofers and other care products do not clog pores that allow air circulation (products containing silicone, for example). Originally I thought the color dye was a spray and I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t. It’s just a squeeze bottle with a foam top that you just pat on the fabric. Easy to use and WORKS!

Miraculous restoration
This kit is amazing. I honestly can’t tell if the cleaning block does much because I was working with 25 year old, very beat up suede. But cleaning block and brush combined worn great to loosen hardened suede and get dirt flying. The really amazing part is the color restorer. See photo for the transformation possible. I have some bare spots that are never coming back to life, but otherwise I don’t think miraculous is an overstatement.

Works, but didn't take out deep stains
I made the mistake of buying very light colored lilac suede shoes, so I bought this kit to help take care of them. The kit did a great job cleaning my brother's tan colored work boots, but not so well with my fancy suede shoes. The lilac shoes had some grey splotches on them from a puddle, but they only faded a little with repeated cleaning and brushing. The work boots looked like they just came out of a box when I finished cleaning them with this kit. I think that because my shoes were so light and damaged with water to begin with, the kit could not restore them. The brush was great for smoothing out suede. It is two sided and the stiff bristles did a great job making all the fibers uniform. The cleaning bar is rubbery, and worked so well getting stains and little discolorations out of the work boots. The color restorer could change the color on the fabric permanently, so they recommend spot testing. This can be tricky on a small article, so I skipped it for the shoes. I did use it for a large saddle bag, and it helped with softness. I think the kit can do without this product, especially since it doesn't waterproof.
