Built like a Sherman tank
This product comes from a tried and true brand and by my own experience , is virtually indestructible. Repeated dead short power-ups only resulted in tripping of the little thermal safety switch, which reset happily with a SNAP after cooling down for a minute.

Would not recommend
Tried to use it to go from 480 to 120 off street light to sign circuit- heated up in a bout 15 minutes and tripped would not reset. Go with siemens brand instead. Triple the money but they work

Worked well for my application.
I needed to power a 120 volt, exhaust fan run indicator fixture. The fan is 480V. There was no 120V source nearby, and there was no neutral conductor so that I could power a 277V lamp. This transformer worked well with no issues.
