These are fantastic gloves in terms of build quality and design. But I did need to return my XL size because it was too short for my hands - EVEN THOUGH THE SIZING CHART SAID THAT THEY WOULD BE TOO BIG. I have long, thin hands - I wear a size 8 1/2 surgical glove if that helps. I had to get a pair of size XXL direct from Black Diamond because Amazon did not carry it, and the XXL size is just long enough for me, just barely, no extra. BUT - as I said, my hands are thin, and even the XXL size is pretty snug around my fingers and palm. They are OK for me, but tight, and if my hands were meaty I don't think they would be acceptable - tight enough to even be cold. Maybe even I should reconsider mittens.

My husband loves these gloves. We got them for skiing after his other gloves always left his hands cold, and these kept his hands warm the entire time on the mountain. Great quality and definitely recommend them for anyone skiing or spending time in the cold.

These gloves have been great in the snow with dropping temperatures. Super warm and dexterity is what you would expect with a winter glove.

These gloves don't keep your hands warm more than ten minutes even when it's not below freezing outside. $189. ?Big ripoff!

I'm sharing my experience with you so you can make an informed decision when considering these gloves. To be fair, these gloves provide exceptional warmth and waterproof qualities. While an initial snug fit, I found they adapted to my hands for maximum dexterity within wearing them a couple of times. Unfortunately the Black Diamond Guide Gloves lack durability. I wore these gloves a total of seven times from December 2025 through January 2026 and have already worn a hole in the finger. I contacted Black Diamond prior to posting this review and was advised this was not a manufacturing defect and therefore not covered under warranty. To give you some context, these were worn once a week at a local ski resort in Ohio with what I would consider average wear. It was a disappointment to say the least that the Black Diamond Guide Gloves are marketed as a professional grade ski glove but failed to make it through half a season. This was just my experience so take it for what it's worth. There are many positive reviews of this product and I was hopeful I could be one of them.

DO NOT use the wax that comes with gloves. The gloves where great until i applied the wax packet that comes with the gloves, it completely ruined the gloves. WHY would they send and recommended applying the wax. It discolored and stained the gloves. I spent hours buffing and trying to remove the wax the part of gloves that are not leather are stained and the leather now looks dull . The gloves are good but do not apply the wax packet that comes with gloves.

It can get pretty cold skiing. These gloves do an excellent job giving just enough dexterity to skiers while also keeping the fingers warm. Comfortable, fit great, and allow the kids to enjoy skiing even in cold conditions.
