Nice grip at the bottom for traction and the strap is velcro, so you can make it tight or loose to your comfort. I purchased a half size up as suggested and I am glad that I did. I wore them yesterday and received so many compliments. I ordered a 10 1/2 in black and my friend said that my feet looked small. I am very happy with my purchase. I'd like to buy a different color.

So the only downside was I got caught in the rain out of town one day and the sole of the shoe just separated from the shoe, flopping. Luckily the lady at the hotel desk had some superglue. That worked. However from then on there was a squeak I couldn't get rid of. So I can only wear them if I am sure I will only be outside.... It's not a quiet squeak. So I would def recommend if you never plan to get caught in the rain!!
