I'm not going to lie. I was pretty stoked when I got on here and this item was available. I've been searching for this since last November, and EVERY single place I looked was sold out! Lowe's even had me stalking them (per their request), and I was getting tired and impatient.This item belongs in every tool box! It's fast and efficient, and as long as you take proper care of your tools, it'll last forever!

I purchased this for my husband who is a framing carpenter and he likes it. He had heard it advertised somewhere and says its abilities and versatility are as presented. His only disappointment is it is made in China, where the metals are always softer--a problem he fights constantly with soft Chinese made nails and screws in his framing, so he's concerned with how long it will last when used in a work environment.

I've purchased at least a dozen screwdrivers over the last 10 years, and I'm sure this will end up being the last one I need to buy.I've always been searching for the 'perfect' ratcheting screwdriver. Every single one of the previous ones I've bought ended up breaking. I've had this almost a year, and it still looks like I just bought it. It's very ruggedly constructed. You can tell by the weight of it that it's not going to break under heavy use. It would be nice if it had a magnetized tip that actually holds the screws, and also a telescopic rod, but I'd rather it holds up for years and years, like this one looks like it will do. Besides, the extension works as a telescopic rod, with the benefit it can go around corners.The double drive feature is an added bonus and it really does work.

I had one with the plastic components for about five years and loved it. It finally started skipping gears and decided to replace it with one with the metal gears based on reviews and advice here on Amazon. Had this one for 6 months, not really used it that much, mainly to replace receptacles and other light-duty work. The gears are already skipping. Won't buy another one for sure. The bits provided with the screwdriver tend to rust easily, though the set is complete with Torx and some unusual bits. The screwdriver is bulky and the plastic cap can crossthread fairly easily when you're changing bits and closing the top. After having such a screwdriver, it's difficult to go back to use regular ones, seems like a lot more work!

I bought the double drive screw driver last night and couldnt wait to use it at work. I put my new tool bag all together and placed the screw driver in a pocket on the bag. 10 minutes later i pulled it out to show a friend how cool it was... FAIL. With very little force, as i pulled it out it seperated and pieces flew everywhere. Great idea but for the average worker, there are too many parts to this contraption and even if it doesnt fall apart not even 24hrs after you buy it, it is destined to get jammed or give problems down the road. This is all being said by someone who reguraly uses Kobalt tools and i am very happy with most of the products they have out.

I'm an engineer and i am seldom amazed like it was by this screwdriver.i saw it on an infomercial and immediately went and bought it on Amazon.Works exactly as advertised. love it.

This item was purchase along with other pieces of the Kobalt brand as a Christmas gift for my husband. He was very happy with the gift and still tells me how great these pieces are.
