Authentic Japanese Dish that's Immaculately Hand-Crafted, and Calming to Use
Every aspect of this bowl, from its manufacture to its shipping, was thoughtfully completed with intention - to ensure the final usage experience was the highest quality possible. The bowl arrived wrapped in packing foam, and was inserted into a sturdy box - which was securely taped, and finally wrapped in bubble material. That level of packing and shipping detail ensured that the bowl would arrive to me as it was intended. And seeing that level of care immediately led me to have faith in the product itself. The bowl is gorgeous, as it combines a rustic simplicity with a polished appearance. The deep-red hue, and aspects of brown and black colors, in its glaze complement several interiors in my home, and it blends into each room where I've used it. It was easy to hand-wash and dry, and I've used it to enjoy soups/broths, as well as larger portions of herbal teas. While I have small hands, I didn't have an issue in using both hands to lift the bowl to my mouth while drinking tea. The bowl was able to maintain the temperature of liquids poured into it for a longer period of time than other porcelain bowls/cups I use.The bowl is heavy, but not so much as to be an issue while carrying or lifting it.

Textured base, handmade look, for hot chocolate, cafe au lait, matcha
This bowl/cup has a heavy glaze on the sides and interior that makes it pleasant to hold and comfortable to drink from. It feels like a pampering old-world experience to drink a steaming hot cafe au lait or hot chocolate from this cup. The grippy bottom is unglazed pottery and a raised ring. This will keep it from sliding and it makes it easy to hold from underneath even if you have small hands or reduced grip strength. It may also scratch surfaces, so be careful! This is not something you want to slide around on your heirloom wooden dining table or on your stainless steel prep table. This would be a lovely gift for someone who appreciates handmade items even if they are not microwave safe. I personally will hand wash as well as not using it in the microwave, because I see the unglazed portion seems slightly absorbent, and I don't want it soaking up any dishwasher soap or dirty water. This is a very analog item to be used with care while savoring the experience. It fits under an espresso machine spout and holds 4 shots plus steamed milk (that is what is shown in the photo).

Match bowl leaks!
This is a beautiful matcha bowl but it leaks and leaves a brown ring on the counter! It was very pricey but I thought it would be worth it. I have used it 3 times and each time the bowl leaks and leaves a brown ring on the kitchen counter. I am very disappointed!

Beautiful Japanese matcha bowl
This matcha bowl is a stunning piece of Mino Yaki pottery! The quality and craftsmanship are exceptional, with a perfect weight and texture that enhances the matcha-making experience. It’s also versatile, I’ve used it for tea, coffee, and even soup. A great addition to any tea lover’s collection. Highly recommend

Beautiful Japanese bowl
This is a beautiful ceramic bowl, handmade in Japan. I like the workmanship. The glazed surface is smooth and bright. It is pleasant and convenient to hold this bowl in your hand. I do not see any flaws on the bowl that I received. The bottom ring is not glazed and I put the bowl on a coaster or a napkin. I am not going to drink anything from this bowl because I am used to mugs. I may put cookies or fruits in it, or just keep it on display. This bowl can make a nice gift for someone who likes unusual things.

Beautiful Japanese pottery bowl
This is a gorgeous bowl, one best suited for on a shelf for display. My son really wanted this, as he loves everything travel, and wanted this for his shelf to display in his room. It is a very beautiful bowl, and as advertised you could use this for making tea or whatever. It is a good quality bowl, and the finish or just beautiful.

Gorgeous Bowl~~!!
So much prettier in person!! Black normally wouldn’t be my first choice but once I got it, it’s so me and wonderfully against the green of matcha!!I usually use mini matcha bowls (around 8-10oz), so this one is so much bigger!Nicely crafted and made in Japan!! ^-^
