Review: Old Biotene formula, excellent for sensitive mouth - Thank you to the other reviewers who provided information on this product being the old, original Biotene formula, I may have never stumbled onto this excellent product without your help. I have a very sensitive mouth, anything minty, too sweet or salty, spicy, hot, acidy, or even sharp like hard candy or chips, can cause burning and sores in my mouth. I used the original Biotene formula for years and did well with it, until the formula was changed, and I could no longer tolerate it. After much time and research, along with many wasted tubes of supposed "gentle" toothpastes, I found that Squiggle tooth builder in the green tube worked for me. Until recently. One reviewer pointed out a change in Squiggle's formula based on the ingredients list, which I did not notice, but my mouth certainly did. More searching and buying of toothpaste that didn't work. Stumbled onto the Salivea for dry mouth, which I also occasionally suffer from, and read the reviews about Laclede producing the old Biotene formula again after the short sighted corporate hacks at the big corporation changed the formula and ruined it. Thank you Laclede for (hopefully) caring about actual people, customers who NEED this product, and will be loyal to it until they die if you continue to produce it! We may not be a large cohort, but there are enough of us who know what works and are so exhausted from searching for new products every time an excellent product is changed, cheapened, or "new and improved," which means just the opposite. This toothpaste is wonderful again, my mouth can tolerate it multiple times a day, it is very soothing, doesn't burn, actually improves my mouth when I flare up from allergies or sensitivities or get sores. The taste is mild but clean, the texture is smooth and comfortable, not watery or gritty as some reviews stated. It is an excellent toothpaste for those of us with mouth sensitivity, canker sores, and dryness issues. I encourage you to at least try a tube to see if it will work for you if you have the same issues I do. I am (selfishly) hoping the customer base will be built up again so that they never stop making this toothpaste with this particular formula again! The price is good considering a lot of other "sensitive" toothpastes I tried were priced much higher. And honestly, I would pay a bit more to have my mouth feel ok and not hurt everyday. If you like super minty, burn your mouth clean toothpaste, (and I understand you, my husband is one of you) then this is not for you. But just because it is not for you, please recognize that it is a godsend for some of us. **Q: Inner toothpaste seal is missing from my latest 2 pack toothpastes? Did manufacturer stop them? Boxes were intact & sealed.**
A: Thank you for contacting us regarding this matter. Yes this is a recent change  we have made due to removal issues with the tube seal. To ensure Consumer safety the boxes for the toothpaste are sealed closed.

**Q: Is this a paste or gel?**
A: It's a very nice paste - I've researched the internet for a gel and it seems it is no longer manufactured by any company - sad to say.   I miss my gel.

**Q: If this paste contains Milk and egg derivatives, wouldn't that promote tooth decay?**
A: Thank you for your question. The milk & egg derivatives contained in Salivea are only the enzymes that comprise Salivea's Enzyme Formula. These are the same enzyme that are present in healthy human saliva and contribute to the mouth's natural defenses. Dry Mouth decreases these enzymes in the mouth and our formulation restores these enzyme levels to normal.

**Q: Is this toothpaste the exact same as act?  why don"t i see act toothpaste listed with other act products?**

Best toothpaste for sensitive teeth and for people with dry mouth. has a very mild mint taste and smooth texture which allows to only plc a small amount on the toothbrush. It is also fluoride-free.

I thought I would try Salivea for my dry mouth issues after reading reviews here. I also purchased the Salivea Mouth Wash for dry mouth. I have only been using both for about 2 weeks. It probably has helped somewhat, but truly very little. I see people have complained that it has no foam and is runny. That is true because it doesn't contain the chemical Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which isn't the best thing for us. So I will accept the runny quality. SLS can also contribute to mouth sores. And I find that since using the Salivea, I have had zero mouth sores. That is a secondary benefit. I do wish the toothpaste had more of a minty flavor. It has no flavor in my opinion. The mouthwash, however, has a nice minty flavor. I will continue to use this till the end of the tube and then decide whether to reorder.....Okay it is 2 months later and I now am changing my 3 stars to 4 stars. This toothpaste has really helped my dry mouth and I have not had a mouth sore for the two months I have been using it now. I used to have so many all the time. I reordered today!
