How to Apply Painters Tape Step 1: Surfaces must be clean, dust-free and dry before application. Step 2: Slowly apply the tape to the surface by applying pressure as it progresses. Step 3: Attach the tape firmly with your hands or use a spatula. Step 4: Please wait 45-60 minutes before you start painting. TEXTURED AREAS & TIPS: Apply the tape, then add a very thin line of paintable caulk to seal the tape on the rough surface. Smooth out the caulk with a cloth, and after dry, start painting. **Q: Going on a road trip. Would this work as a temporary car bra?**
A: Absolutely NO, I got it with the same purpose and I just damaged my paint in my brand new CAMARO, glue gets soft with heat allowing dust to stick in there, with the wind it rubs the paint creating deep scratches that won't come out buffering.
