Freeze Dried Dog Treats, 100% Chicken Breast, 14.8 oz Tub

Dog loves them. They do have a lot of dust.

I bought these for my little dog who is very picky about what she eats. I like the fact that they are 100% chicken breast and totally USA sourced and packaged. But even more than that, my picky little dog loves this treat! The pieces vary in size from about thumb size to crumbs, but my dog will lick all the crumbs out of her bowl to get every piece. But what a pleasant surprise that one of my cats likes these treats more than the dog! Now if I feed one, I have to give the other treats too or they snatch it from each other. I am very happy with this product. Update: I just ordered another container if the freeze dried chicken, and opened it today. The first thing I noticed was the dark brown color, then a weird chemical smell. The chicken was overly dry and I will not feed it to my dog or cats-it is going into the trash. I don't know what happened to Stewart's quality control, but this totally unacceptable. Buyer beware.

I purchased this product 9/2/24 and opened it 10/17/24 (the amazon return window ended 10/10/24). I have purchased this many times before for several years and never had any problems. This time the treats looked shriveled and had a yellow tint (rather than looking beige). Also, as soon as I opened the container, there was a horrible bad cardboard smell (likely there was a defect in the seal of the container). Since this is an expensive product that usually lasts my dog 9 months and I can no longer use this (and the Amazon return window closed), I filled out a form on the company's website voicing my concern. My concern was completely disregarded, and I was told the smell and color were due to a higher fat content in this batch and since it was not past the expiration date, I could feed them to my dog. It was not a difference in odor due to fat content...it was a horrible odor due to a likely packaging defect, and therefore the expiration date was irrelevant because the product had not been properly sealed. I responded to let them know and was completely ignored this time. I will not be buying this product again. I understand that mistakes happen, but take responsibility for those mistakes..don't just brush them off. Horrible customer service.

If you’re gonna buy this type of dog treat, I definitely recommend this company and this form of packaging. These little puffed chickens tend to get crushed in packaging. That’s just bags particularly one shipping or even if they’ve been stored on a shelf in a store. These come a nice solid, really hard, good quality bucket and they stay exactly to the form that they are supposed to a very little chicken dust at the bottom like other brands. I think in terms of taste, my dog absolutely love them. The thickness is good and these are very good low-calorie treat if you’re trying to manage your dogs weight.

This is the best and healthiest for my dogs. I would rate it higher but, due to the cost I have to give it 4 stars. I can't buy it all the time because it is expensive and I have a very large dog. Overall a great product.

My pups really love this. I got it because it was on the SPCA Amazon wish list. The treats are freeze dried chicken. They flake and crumble easily, but my dogs love them and will even eat them in powder form. I put them thru my coffee grinder then sprinkle the powder over their food.

Bought these back in November 2022 and my dog loved them, no issues. When he finished I purchased another tub in February 2023 and immediately upon opening it I could tell something was off. This batch looked different (pic #2), they were darker, much harder and had a weird smell. Almost like rancid cooking oil. I checked the expiration date and it was ok (4/2024) so I thought it should be fine. My dog ate them for maybe two weeks before completely refusing them and literally backing away whenever you’d try to offer them. He loves freeze dried chicken treats so this was very unusual. I still had a few pieces from the November batch I bought and he’d eat those, no problem. I figured this “new” batch must be stale considering the smell, color, and texture differences. I checked the expiration date on the previous tub and it had a later date (8/2024) vs the “newer” one (4/2024). I returned the bad batch and bought some from a different company and he’s back to eating them without issue. These look fresher (pic #3) and don’t have a weird smell or texture. Tl,dr there’s a chance you’re going to get a stale batch
